The team did not provide any details on the COVID-19 issues or injuries on the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is heartbreaking for our players, coaches, staff and fans that we are not able to play in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl,\u201d athletic director Ross Bjork said. \u201cPostseason football is the pinnacle of the season and when the opportunity is lost, it hurts on many levels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we have learned in the last 21 months of this health challenge, the well-being and safety of our student-athletes is paramount,\u201d he continued. \u201cOur players poured their heart and soul into this season and we <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>reciate their dedication as Aggies. Wake Forest athletic director John Currie said Wednesday that he was \u201cheartened\u201d that at least five teams had reached out to express potential interest in playing, including one team that has already played in a bowl <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Dave Clawson met with the team captains earlier Wednesday for them to decide whether they wanted to play. The answer was yes, but with a \u201cqualifier\u201d that they didn\u2019t want to work out and practice through the holidays if the game was unlikely to come together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think for our players, in fairness to them, if we\u2019re going to keep them over the Christmas holiday, we probably need to know something fairly early Friday,\u201d Clawson said. \u201cWe wanted to give it enough time so there was an opportunity to find an opponent. But again, our players \u2014 and you can understand this \u2014 if they\u2019re not going to be playing in a bowl game, they wanted to be able to spend the holidays with their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Aggies had an up-and-down season in which they went 4-4 in Southeastern Conference play.
