\nWestside Gunn experienced a recent medical scare and was forced to take a trip<\/a> to the emergency room, momentarily worrying his fans. But in a new Instagram update, the Griselda Records boss has assured everyone he\u2019s on the mend \u2014 he\u2019s just going to have to take some time off.<\/p>\n

The self-described Flygod shared a post to his Stories on Wednesday (December 22) and expressed his gratitude for the support he got throughout the ordeal.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome rest & I\u2019ll be back,\u201d he wrote. \u201cThank y\u2019all so much for the love, u know I love u all even the haters!!! Happ<\/a>y holidays\u2026 I didn\u2019t realize I had 60 points in the 3rd quarter I should\u2019ve been benched myself, some should be thankful I\u2019m giving y\u2019all a head starts anyways (I\u2019m still talking shit but if u know me u know I\u2019m humble lol\u2026) Allahu Akbar. But things evidently took a turn for the worst when Westside Gunn returned with yet another update confirming he tested positive for COVID-19. On Thursday (December 23), he shared the test results with the caption, \u201cAgain pray for me this is getting worst. First holiday without Chelle and Big Al and now this!!! I don\u2019t wish this on nobody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Westside Gunn revealed he was\u00a0having some respiratory issues\u00a0on Tuesday (December 21) via Instagram. With emergency responders on scene, the 39-year-old rapper noted it was the second time this month he had to be treated.<\/p>\n

\u201cPray for me they had to call for emergency,\u201d Westside wrote. \u201cI couldn\u2019t breath, it\u2019s under control now but otw to hospital. 2x this month.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understandable Westside Gunn needs a little rest \u2014 he\u2019s been going nonstop the entire year. He released not one but two albums \u2014 Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Sincerely, Adolf<\/em> and Side B<\/em> \u2014 and appeared on Kanye West\u2019s Donda<\/em> album, much to his surprise. Speaking to HipHopDX\u00a0<\/em>in September, he said his feature on the track\u00a0\u201cKeep My Spirit Alive\u201d was almost shocking.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was one of the things that was a big deal to me,\u201d he told DX<\/em> at the time. I\u2019m not going to lie, I didn\u2019t know it was going to be on the album at first. He ended up doing like the listening in Las Vegas and everybody was hitting me like, \u2018Yo, I heard you on Kanye album.\u2019 So I was happy as shit. I\u2019m like, \u2018Word. I did it.\u2019 So it was like, \u2018Damn, OK. He finally dropping it, and I\u2019m on it.\u2019 Then he had the listening party in Atlanta at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, one of the biggest stadiums, period. He played [the song] and I wasn\u2019t on it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Wait a minute, I\u2019m not on this shit?\u2019 I took my family, we all in there, I was just waiting to hear my part and it never came on. So I\u2019m leaving the stadium like, \u2018Man, fuck this man.\u2019 I was mad as hell. So then he had another one in Atlanta and I was like, \u2018I ain\u2019t going back to that one.\u2019 And then I was on it [laughs].\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
