{"id":386175,"date":"2021-12-23T21:05:36","date_gmt":"2021-12-23T18:05:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/jack-dorsey-blocked-on-twitter-by-marc-andreessen-over-web3-tiff\/"},"modified":"2021-12-23T21:05:36","modified_gmt":"2021-12-23T18:05:36","slug":"jack-dorsey-blocked-on-twitter-by-marc-andreessen-over-web3-tiff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/jack-dorsey-blocked-on-twitter-by-marc-andreessen-over-web3-tiff\/","title":{"rendered":"#Jack Dorsey blocked on Twitter by Marc Andreessen over &#8216;Web3&#8217; tiff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Jack Dorsey blocked on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> by Marc Andreessen over &#8216;Web3&#8217; tiff<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has been blocked on Twitter \u2014 the social network he co-founded \u2014 by venture capitalist Marc Andreessen amid a growing tiff over the trendy crypto concept of \u201cWeb3\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Dorsey \u2014 who stepped down from the helm of Twitter last month to run his payments company Block, formerly known as Square, full-time \u2013posted a screenshot on Wednesday showing that he had been blocked by Andreessen, the co-founder of Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m officially banned from web3,\u201d Dorsey quipped.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was the latest development in an escalating feud between tech titans like Dorsey and Elon Musk and a cadre of Silicon Valley investors like Andreessen, who claim they are looking to disrupt the internet.<\/p>\n<p>Proponents of Web3 say it is a vision in which blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> and cryptocurrency will give individual users co-ownership of the internet \u2014 reducing the ability of tech giants like Facebook, Google and Twitter to control speech and squash competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But critics of Web3 including Dorsey and Elon Musk say the term is just a marketing ploy designed to take power away from some rich tech investors and give it to other rich tech investors.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t own \u2018web3.\u2019 The VCs and their LPs do,\u201d\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jack\/status\/1473139010197508098?s=20\">Dorsey tweeted<\/a> earlier this week in reference to venture capitalists and their funders. \u201cIt will never escape their incentives. It\u2019s ultimately a centralized entity with a different label.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In another post on Thursday, Dorsey \u2014 an NYU dropout who was known for taking meditation retreats while leading Twitter \u2014 continued to slam venture capitalists and criticized the cryptocurrency Ethereum, which has been embraced by many Web3 boosters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m anti-centralized, VC-owned, single point of failure, and corporate controlled lies,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jack\/status\/1473887809211711491\">wrote Dorsey<\/a>, who is worth an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/profile\/jack-dorsey\/?sh=17d8cd842372\">estimated $9.4 billion<\/a>. \u201cIf your goal is anti establishment, I promise you it isn\u2019t ethereum. Don\u2019t believe or trust me!
