{"id":386303,"date":"2021-12-27T08:02:11","date_gmt":"2021-12-27T05:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/mta-not-ready-for-congestion-pricing-toll-complaint-surge-ig-says\/"},"modified":"2021-12-27T08:02:11","modified_gmt":"2021-12-27T05:02:11","slug":"mta-not-ready-for-congestion-pricing-toll-complaint-surge-ig-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/mta-not-ready-for-congestion-pricing-toll-complaint-surge-ig-says\/","title":{"rendered":"#MTA not ready for congestion pricing toll complaint surge, IG says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#MTA not ready for congestion pricing toll complaint surge, IG says<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The MTA is not ready to handle the influx of\u00a0tolling complaints expected from congestion pricing, the authority\u2019s\u00a0inspector <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> suggested Monday. <\/p>\n<p>Transportation Authority officials have done little to study the underlying causes of thousands of toll complaints and are playing catch-up to develop a \u201cmodern information system\u201d by the start of Central Business District Tolling in\u00a02023. <\/p>\n<p>MTA Bridges and Tunnels \u201cdoes not have a reliable way to detect systemic issues,\u201d IG Carolyn Pokorny said. \u201cThis shortcoming puts the agency at risk of being ill-prepared to handle\u00a0future CBD tolling complaints efficiently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>IG staffers found several complaints originated with failure to accurately record license plates by the MTA\u2019s contractor Conduent. Yet MTA management\u2019s summary reports of complaints completely missed the prevalence of human error, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>The MTA signed a new $246 million contract with Conduent earlier this year \u2014 but opted to keep the company out of its customer service operations.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, customer service for MTA bridge and tunnel tolls will be handled through a $122 million contract with Faneuil.
