Asian film distributor ODEX has teased the Southeast Asian release of <\/span>Free! \u2013 The Final Stroke \u2013<\/span><\/i> by changing their cover photo to a key visual of the film, with the words \u201cComing Soon.\u201d ODEX previously teased the release of <\/span>Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Fate\/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Licht \u2013 Namae no Nai Shoujo<\/span><\/i> (Fate\/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Licht \u2013 Nameless Girl)<\/span><\/i> in this manner as well.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Free! \u2013 The Final Stroke \u2013 <\/span><\/i>is a two-part <\/span>film series<\/a><\/span>. The first part, titled <\/span>Free!-the Final Stroke- the first volume<\/span><\/i>, sees its characters heading to Sydney, where the champion Albert Volandel awaits them. It was released in Japan on September 17, while the second part titled <\/span>Free!\u2013the Final Stroke\u2013 the second volume<\/span><\/i> will be released on April 22, 2022.<\/span> The first ten minutes of <\/span>the first volume<\/span><\/i> was <\/span>released<\/span><\/a> by Kyoto Animation\u2019s YouTube<\/a> channel on October 1.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Free!-the Final Stroke-<\/span><\/i> the first volume<\/span><\/i>\u2018s staff includes<\/span> Eisaku Kawanami<\/b> (<\/span>Free! -Dive to the Future-<\/span><\/i>) as director, story composer, and script<\/a>writer; <\/span>Masahiro Yokotani<\/b> (<\/span>Re:Zero \u2212 Starting Life in Another World Season 2<\/span><\/i>) as co-scriptwriter, the late <\/span>Futoshi Nishiya<\/b> (<\/span>Free! -Dive to the Future-<\/span><\/i>,<\/span> Liz and the Blue Bird<\/span><\/i>) as character designer, and <\/span>Kouhei Okamura<\/b> (<\/span>Free! -Dive to the Future- <\/span><\/i>assistant chief animation director) and <\/span>Miku Kadowaki<\/b> (<\/span>Miss Kobayashi\u2019s Dragon Maid S<\/span><\/i> character designer) as chief animation directors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the cast of <\/span>Free!-the Final Stroke-<\/span><\/i> the first volume <\/span><\/i>includes <\/span>Nobunaga Shimazaki<\/b> as Haruka Nanase, <\/span>Tatsuhisa Suzuki<\/b> as Makoto Tachibana, <\/span>Mamoru Miyano<\/b> as Rin Matsuoka, and <\/span>Kouki Uchiyama<\/b> as Ikuya Kirishima.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Free! anime<\/a> franchise, which is loosely based on the light novels by <\/span>Kouji Ouji<\/b>, began in 2013 under <\/span>Kyoto Animation<\/b> and includes three TV series and multiple films. KyoAni\u2019s Osaka branch <\/span>Animation Do<\/b>, which merged with its parent company in 2020, had a prominent role in the production of most of the <\/span>Free! <\/span><\/i>installments.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Nanase Haruka loved to be in the water \u2013 loved swimming. In elementary school, Nanase Haruka, Tachibana Makoto, Matsuoka Rin, and Hazuki Nagisa attended the same swimming class together. Time passed, and as Haruka was living an uneventful high school life, he suddenly encountered Rin again. Rin challenged Haruka to a race and showed him how much stronger he had become. Soon enough, Makoto and Nagisa also rejoined the group, and along with a new classmate, Ryugazaki Rei, they established the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n\n
