CEO Jane Fraser and several others, have served as \u201cinformal advisers\u201d to Harris, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-12-29\/harris-quietly-taps-wall-street-tech-ceos-for-advice-on-policy?srnd=premium\">Bloomberg reported<\/a>. The commitments included enhanced job training and new facilities based in Central America.<\/p>\n<p>Harris and other administration officials have argued the economic support is necessary to address the \u201croot causes\u201d of migration from the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI probably started out as somebody who was hopeful but skeptical that this could make a real dent, just because I think the magnitude of the challenge is so great,\u201d Smith told Bloomberg. \u201cBut increasingly, I\u2019m optimistic that this is gaining real momentum and will make a real difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harris is said to have engaged with Cisco Systems CEO Chuck Robbins\u00a0about ways to address an ongoing semiconductor shortage and supply chain disruptions. Harris has sought from the business world support for Democrat-backed federal voting rights legislation, but Republican lawmakers have managed to block the bills on several occasions in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>In August, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/retail-consumer\/harris-meet-with-microsoft-etsy-airbnb-gap-others-biden-agenda-white-house-2021-08-12\/\">Harris met<\/a> with executives from seven companies, including Microsoft, Chobani and Airbnb, in a bid to rally support for expanded child care programs tabbed for the Biden administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> spending agenda.
