Let\u2019s find out.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"New_Buttons_and_Bars\"><\/span>New Buttons and Bars<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Mint\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance has received a small facelift. There are some subtle changes to the coloring scheme meant to increase the appeal and reduce distractions. It\u2019s meant to allow for a more comfortable environment, and it indeed succeeds at that. But if you\u2019re the type who protects your screen space like a tiger guarding its territory, this resize will feel more like an encroachment on your valuable real estate.<\/p>\n<p>While there\u2019s no setting you can im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely change to go back to the old style, the Linux Mint developers do provide a workaround for those interested. You can get the old look back by first installing a package called <code>mint-themes-legacy<\/code>. The included apps are some of the most important for dark mode viewing, like the video player, IPTV player, image viewer, and terminal. You can activate it in individual apps without having to change any system theme settings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-775769\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/linux-mint-203-terminal-dark-mode-2.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"GNOME Terminal with dark mode enabled in Linux Mint 20.3\" width=\"442\" height=\"141\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Not all apps have a dark mode, though. For example, Software Center, the desktop tool for browsing and managing software, remains a light gray without any option to change without touching system settings. The situation is the same for the file browser. Of course, you should keep in mind <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/423717\/dark-mode-isn%E2%80%99t-better-for-you-but-we-love-it-anyway\/\">dark mode doesn\u2019t have all the benefits you think it might.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"An_Improved_TV_Experience\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_2\">An Improved TV Experience<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Introduced in Mint 20, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/linuxmint\/hypnotix\">Hypnotix<\/a> app allows you to\u00a0stream free TV channels (also known as IPTV) as well as movies and TV series directly on your desktop. Una improves its usability with refined channel browsing and a new search bar so you can jump right to your favorite programming.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-775765\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/linux-mint-203-hypnotix.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"Streaming a television network with Hypnotix in Linux Mint\" width=\"650\" height=\"392\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Mint also expanded its support for M3U and Xtream, meaning you can now stream from a wider swath of providers. It collects your PDFs and other documents in one place and tracks your progress in reading them, similar to how <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/38679\/the-best-podcasting-apps-for-android-in-2020\/\">podcast apps<\/a> work.
