Especially as they swap out other forms of transportation for commuting or everyday errands. We\u2019ll also be seeing more features around integrated navigation, fitness tracking, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Cowboy\u2019s intuitive motor<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> creates a safer way to control speed in a busy city, and crash-detection <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, including embedded sensors, that helps detect falls and alert emergency contacts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Investments_in_ebike_manufacturing_R_D_and_scale_will_persist\"><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Investments in ebike manufacturing, R&amp;D, and scale will persist\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Investments in ebike companies<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> show no sign of slowing down. In 2021 we saw companies like Dance, Cowboy, VanMoof, and Rad Power all enjoyed successful funding rounds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In December, Verlinvest <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.verlinvest.com\/news\/verlinvest-invests-in-pedego-the-largest-e-bike-retailer-in-north-america\/\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">invested in Pedego<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, the largest retail chain of electric bike stores in North America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Thus, as more companies plan for world domination, we can expect investors to continue to follow the industry closely. According to Roose:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Each year, we see more new kickstarts crop up. But the market is still dominated by established companies that are receiving an influx in funding from eager investors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, despite funding boosts and increased consumer adoption, customers\u2019 delays in getting their bikes will persist in 2022. The supply chain problems that have plagued 2022 show little sign of improvement.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_commitment_to_improving_cycling_infrastructure\"><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A commitment to improving cycling infrastructure\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In 2022, cities like Philadelphia and<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/sanantonioreport.org\/bcycle-electric-fleet\/\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0San Antonio<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> plan<\/span>\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/news\/green\/indego-2022-bike-share-expansion\/3034356\/\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">to expand shared ebike programs<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0in terms of service and fleet size. According to Roose, the new bike lane on the Brooklyn Bridge, which opened in September 2021,<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/gothamist.com\/news\/new-brooklyn-bridge-bike-lane-immediate-hit-among-cyclists-data-shows\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0has been a huge success<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In December,\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.masstransitmag.com\/alt-mobility\/shared-mobility\/bicycle-scooter-sharing\/press-release\/21248310\/maryland-transit-administration-mta-mdot-mta-to-welcome-personal-ebikes-and-escooters-on-network\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">MDOT\u2019s MTA<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0welcomed personally owned e-bikes and e-scooters on its network.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Roose shared:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While COVID-19 is still impacting the industry as a whole, it has created a shift in thinking, as cities and people reinvent themselves, and provided an opportunity to come up with flexible and exciting designs and answers to a broader spectrum of people and href=\"https:\/\/la.streetsblog.org\/news\/new-raised-protected-bike-lanes-on-hollywood-way-in-burbank\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Burbank<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/wtop.com\/dc\/2021\/11\/new-protected-bike-lanes-added-to-dave-thomas-circle-revamp-project\/\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0DC<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0are adding more protected bike lanes in 2022, building on the installation of temporary pop-up lanes in response to the cycling surge during the pandemic.\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.exberliner.com\/features\/zeitgeist\/the-future-of-bergmannkiez\/\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Berlin<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> has established an additional 25km in cycling lanes in 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, we can expect the politics of how we share the road to maintain a hot topic in 2022. Especially as car drivers and <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/bike-blog\/2021\/dec\/13\/how-a-myth-about-london-bike-lanes-and-congestion-took-flight\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">car maker-funded research<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">perpetuate the myth that cycling lanes cause road congestion.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"More_variety_in_product_offerings\"><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">More variety in product offerings\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We\u2019ve had more than a few experiences of being unable to trial offered ebikes as I\u2019m simply too short.
