The Twitter<\/a> page of The Eminence in Shadow<\/em> has raised the curtain on the upcoming isekai fantasy anime<\/a>\u2019s main cast, revealing Seiichirou Yamashita<\/strong> as protagonist Cid Kagenou, Kana Hanazawa<\/strong> as Alexia Midgar, and Youko Hikasa<\/strong> as Iris Midgar. Additionally, the KADOKAWA Anime Channel Facebook page has released character visuals for the trio, with two visuals for Cid to depict his different forms.<\/span><\/p>\n

The anime is set to premiere in 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Eminence in Shadow\u00a0<\/em>is based on the light novels by Daisuke Aizawa<\/strong> with illustrations from Azunishi<\/strong>, which began in 2018 and have four volumes as of February 2021. The story began as a web novel on Shouetsuka ni Narou and has inspired two manga series<\/a>, including a comedic spin-off. The light novels are published under the ENTERBRAIN label.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Even in his past life, Cid\u2019s dream wasn\u2019t to become a protagonist or a final boss.
