In a candid <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a><\/strong> video, the <em>Even Stevens<\/em> alum explained that, since she was a child star, her parents initially had control of her finances. While they did their best to get her great deals, they didn\u2019t set her up for success by teaching her the \u201cvalue\u201d of money. Because she didn\u2019t know how to properly invest, she used her cash o purchase \u201cbig-ticket items\u201d like cars to \u201cfeel better\u201d about herself. The 37-year-old explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI really regret not investing my money wisely. I didn\u2019t get a house. I didn\u2019t take any money and store it away\u2026 I was not being taught how to manage my money. For example, when I was 21, I had a record deal. I had a book deal. And in that year I made just about a million dollars. And in that same year, I spent it\u2026 I was using buying things and [using] money as a weapon. I felt like if I could just buy certain things, I would feel better or if I just lived a certain lifestyle, I would be closer to that joy of feeling accepted and a lot less alone because I felt really dumb for not knowing about my money and I never really made peace with that. Even to this day, there\u2019s nothing I can really do about the fact that money came and went.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Yeesh<\/em>. While they were supposed to put aside 15 percent by law, by the time Carter turned 18, there was allegedly a lot less left. Instead of gaining $20 million, he was allegedly left with just $2 million and a million in taxes his parents neglected to pay. Yikes!<\/p>\n<p>By 2013, this led the younger brother of <strong>Backstreet Boys<\/strong> member\u00a0<b>Nick Carter <\/b>to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The dramatic financial decision was done to protect his parents <strong>Robert<\/strong> and <strong>Jane<\/strong> <strong>Carter\u00a0<\/strong>from going to jail for tax evasion. Unfortunately, just months later, he found himself in debt <em>again<\/em>, this time for $150K.\u00a0In 2016, Aaron appeared on the reality <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> <i>Life Or Debt<\/i>, on which he admitted to his financial advisor <strong>Victor Antonio<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFinancially, I\u2019m in a terrible position. Confidential <\/em>alum in her acting career, she bought a small town in Georgia with aspirations of creating a film studio or theme park. That dream was shattered when things took a turn for the worse in 1993 after she backed out of the film <em>Boxing Helena<\/em>. <strong>Main Line Pictures<\/strong> ordered her to pay $8 million for that career decision, forcing her to file for bankruptcy. Kim had to sell the small town in order to pay her debts. On <em>Diff\u2019rent Strokes<\/em>, he made the shocking amount of $70,000 per episode. So, the guy should have been set up for financial success for the rest of his life! Unfortunately, his adoptive parents and business manager, who had control of his income while he was a minor, grossly mismanaged it.<\/p>\n<p>Years after the show came to an end, Coleman sued those involved for the lost money, claiming they were siphoning funds from his earnings for their own desires, and he actually saw some victory. He was awarded $1.3 million in return, but, sadly, that wasn\u2019t enough to fix his problems. In 1999, <em>The Gary Coleman Show<\/em> alum filed for bankruptcy. Daaaamn.<\/p>\n<p>The musician and actor, best known for his TV series <em>Power<\/em>, had made big bucks through multiple business ventures, but still found himself in debt due to lawsuits and unpaid child support payments in 2015. The child support was owed to model <strong>Daphne Joy<\/strong> (real name <strong>Daphne Narvaez<\/strong>) and their now 9-year-old son <strong>Sire <\/strong>(he was just 2 at the time). In court documents filed in 2016, he detailed needing to pay $832,600 until Sire reached the age of 18. That\u2019s $4,330 a month! He also had to pay child support for his other son <strong>Marquise<\/strong>, whom he shares with <strong>Shaniqua Thompkins<\/strong>.\u00a0No wonder his wallet was hurting.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, he stated that his monthly income was $183K, which he spent $72,000 of on his 18-bedroom Connecticut mansion and $108,000 in other expenses, according to the <em>New York Post<\/em>.
