Let\u2019s look at some of the news of 2021 and what it means for the year ahead:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Notable_truck_investments_in_2021\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notable truck investments in 2021<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You couldn\u2019t move in 2021 for news of truck investments. <span>Well, they\u2019re so many that we\u2019re gonna focus on the most notable:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"March\"><\/span><b>March<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"June\"><\/span><b>June<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"August\"><\/span><b>August<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"November\"><\/span><b>November<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rivian <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">raised a massive $11.9 billion in its initial public offering<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IPO). This was the biggest in 2021 and the sixth-largest ever on a US exchange. It trumps Uber, which raised $8.1 billion in 2019. However, Rivian\u2019s November <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-11-17\/rivian-to-see-15-billion-wipeout-as-breathless-rally-falters?cmpid=BBD111821_TECH&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=newsletter&amp;utm_term=211118&amp;utm_campaign=tech\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trading experiences<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were less than stellar, and the issue of getting trucks manufactured and to customers remains a pain point.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The challenge will be if Rivian can keep manufacturing up with an influx of orders, especially given the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">supply chain problems<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">semiconductor shortage<\/span>..<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Also in November:<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"December\"><\/span><b>December<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trucks_go_green_but_we_need_to_power_them\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trucks go green, but we need to power them<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trucks and range anxiety is a real thing. We not only need a truckload (excuse the pun) of battery innovation but adequate access to trucking chargers as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We also need the evolution\/transformation of transport infrastructure.<span>\u00a0According to Aaron Gillmore, CEO of <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/waveipt.com\/\"><span>WAVE<\/span><\/a><span>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unprecedented port volume and congestion, combined with growing <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> and environmental pressure for clean air around ports and goods movement corridors will spur new solutions for heavy-duty EV trucks such as wireless charging in virtual port entry queues for drayage trucks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He further noted that the challenges of increasing range with additional costly, heavy, and progressively supply-constrained batteries will lead to new innovative <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roaches to range extension. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These include high power wireless charging \u2014 placed strategically for creating EV fleets that can run at a virtual perpetual state of charge, and support 24\/7 continuous operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span EV truck companies Hercules and Atlis to configure the TerraVis system for their pickup trucks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company is also engaged in innovating and designing high-efficiency, affordable hydrogen fuel cells to fast charge battery electric vehicles. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Steven Rossi, CEO of Worksport shared:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Worksport is convinced that both solar and hydrogen technologies are the future of automotive and will play key roles in how sustainability will shift to a greener tomorrow. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are focused on helping to evolve and transition the industry towards a carbon-neutral and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced its Hydrogen Vision 2040<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at an online event called <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrogen-wave.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hydrogen Wave<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The company aims to become the first automaker to apply fuel cell systems to all commercial vehicle models by 2028.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two months later, California announced a three-year $1.4 billion hydrogen fueling and electric truck charging infrastructure investment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And in December, Volvo Group, Daimler Truck, and the TRATON GROUP signed a binding agreement<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/traton.com\/en\/newsroom\/press_releases\/press-release-16122021.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to create a joint venture<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to install and operate a high-performance public charging network for battery electric, heavy-duty long-haul trucks, and coaches across Europe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"post-image His trial is set for April 4, 2022, in New York.
