Joe Manchin told reporters Tuesday there are \u201cno negotiations\u201d going on regarding President Biden\u2019s nearly $2 trillion Build Back Better Act, in the latest sign that the massive <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> spending legislation is moribund, if not officially dead. <\/p>\n<p>During a Capitol Hill press gaggle, Manchin (D-WV) was asked if he would support a version of the bill that did not include an enhanced version of the federal child tax credit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really not going to talk about Build Back Better anymore because I think I\u2019ve been very clear on that,\u201d Manchin said after a brief pause. \u201cThere is no negotiations going on at this time, OK?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The senator added that the legislation had \u201can awful lot of things. I\u2019ve tried everything humanly possible. I can\u2019t get there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Manchin said he could support a smaller bill, citing concerns over the measure\u2019s effect on decades-high inflation. Manchin also warned that budget \u201cgimmicks\u201d were obscuring the true cost of the package \u2014 with costs being spread over fewer years than the revenue streams meant to offset them.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin also blasted White House officials in a Dec. 20 interview for pushing him to his \u201cwits\u2019 end\u201d in the negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not the president. This is staff,\u201d the West Virginia Democrat told home-state radio host Hoppy Kercheval. \u201cAnd they drove some things, and they put some things out, that were absolutely inexcusable. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) \u2014 who has played a role in negotiations over both changes to Senate rules and Build Back Better \u2014 was among those stuck on I-95 for hours due to a winter storm that hit the region Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) confirmed earlier Tuesday that Democrats have at least temporarily shifted their focus away from the major spending measure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are focused on voting rights, as we should be,\u201d Durbin told reporters. \u201cAnd I think the White House is joining us in that effort, and clearly we\u2019ll return to Build Back Better as soon as that is done.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
