“#AMC Networks Acquires Sentai Filmworks and HIDIVE<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Variety reported today<\/span><\/a> that the Houston-based anime<\/a> licensing and distribution company Sentai Holdings, LLC\u00a0\u2014 which includes Sentai\u00a0Filmworks and streaming service HIDIVE\u00a0\u2014\u00a0has been acquired by AMC Networks from the Cool Japan Fund.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWith strong industry relationships and access to key content creators in Japan, Sentai distributes and curates one of the anime industry\u2019s most diverse libraries of top trending and classic titles, with its content available on Crunchyroll, Hulu and Amazon Prime, among others,\u201d AMC Networks\u00a0said in a statement<\/span><\/a>. “Sentai\u2019s HIDIVE streaming service represents a strong new addition to AMC Networks\u2019 portfolio of fast-growing targeted offerings.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the AMC Networks statement,\u00a0founder John Ledford, Griffin Vance and Paul Clinkscales will stay on their senior roles as the brand moves to AMC Networks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the same statement, Ledford said, \u201cWe are thrilled by AMC Networks\u2019 acquisition and are excited to be a part of their growth strategy. This acquisition will not change Sentai\u2019s mission to deliver the most exciting anime content to audiences around the world \u2014 it will expand it greatly and will give our content businesses more distribution, more partnerships, more scale and more reach. I could not be more pleased.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sentai Filmworks was founded in 2008, with the\u00a0streaming service HiDive launching\u00a0in<\/span><\/a> 2017.\u00a0<\/p>\n
