\n A black motorist is going viral after flipping out at Black Lives Matter protesters who blocked a Texas highway \u2014 getting them to let him through after screaming, \u201cI gotta go to work!\u201d<\/p>\n

The unidentified motorist was filmed getting out of his pickup after a group of mostly white protesters blocked Austin\u2019s I-35 late Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey look, I understand the cause, I app<\/a>reciate it \u2014 but I gotta go to work!\u201d he told the group after getting out on the highway.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m black \u2014 I gotta go to work! I got bills. I got kids. Get the f\u2013k out my way!\u201d he yelled as one of the protest leaders approached him.<\/p>\n

The protesters \u2014 who moments earlier had been chanting, \u201cWhose streets? Our streets!\u201d \u2014 quickly parted, with several shouting to make sure the motorist was allowed through.<\/p>\n

Other cars were still blocked, however, as a line of protesters was seen reforming and stretching across the highway.<\/p>\n

The confrontation came amid rising tensions in Austin a week after the shooting death of armed protester Garrett Foster after he allegedly confronted a driver while holding an AK-47.<\/p>\n

Heavily armed members of right-wing militia groups, including the Three Percenters and the Boogaloo Boys, appeared near Foster\u2019s memorial, according to DailyMail.com.<\/p>\n

Austin\u2019s Department of Public Safety (DPS) had earlier said it was bringing in extra law enforcement support amid reports of plans to disrupt the Black Lives Matter protests, KXAN reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cDPS supports the right of individuals to lawfully protest, and public safety is our top priority,\u201d the agency said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, DPS will be increasing our presence this weekend, along with our local law enforcement partners, to ensure public safety needs are met and to combat any potential criminal activity.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
