Others, including Tonka Truck maker Basic Fun, are on the fence about attending, sources say.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a fluid situation,\u201d said one toymaker, Albert Maslaton, chief operating officer of Brooklyn Lollipops, who\u2019s booked to attend, but said he\u2019d rather not go \u2014 and is trying to get his money back.<\/p>\n<p>The show was canceled in 2021 for the first time in 117 years, but this year\u2019s show is set to go on \u2014 and organizer The Toy Association pointed out that biggies Lego and Mattel are still attending.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is still a strong core,\u201d TIA spokeswoman, Adrienne <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>ell told On the Money. \u201cIt is fluid, but more driven by rumor mill.\u201d Amazon, she added, is registered to attend. masks and vaccinations for everyone entering the building.<\/p>\n<p>Whether the show is canceled or takes place with fewer attendees and exhibitors, toy companies are still finding ways to connect with sellers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year when we didn\u2019t have a Toy Fair, we had our best year ever with sales up 20 percent over 2020 and 40 percent from 2019,\u201d Maslaton told The Post. \u201cWe still believe in Toy Fair but the industry is not so dependent on fairs anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" of the tech-focsed CES conference in Las Vegas in December along with some of the biggest tech companies, including Twitter, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pinterest<\/a> along with JPMorgan PepsiCo and iHeartmedia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Amazon, Hasbro, Walmart, Target and Jazwares did not immediately respond for comment.<\/p>\n<p>MGA announced its decision to attend Toy Fair \u201cvirtually\u201d on Monday, citing a \u201crampant COVID part is that the decision of whether to go or not is happening now, during the Omicron peak,\u201d said Basic Fun chief executive, Jay Foreman, who is still on the fence about attending. \u201cBut likely later next month Omicron will have subsided.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Foreman is waffling because his largest retail accounts are the ones that have pulled out and he\u2019s concerned about his staff <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ing safely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn many cases the [big companies] haven\u2019t even brought staff back to the office at all or full time and are having problems sending their staff on the road to a city like toy companies, the hardship of losing their deposit \u2014 made in June \u2014 is irksome.
