Minorities are increasingly becoming privileged while growing numbers of white people face discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>Diversity initiatives have been around for years, but over the past year and a half, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.ongig.com\/diversity-and-inclusion\/diversity-goals\/\">innumerable<\/a> companies and corporations have ramped up their efforts with the goal of \u201cdiversifying\u201d their workforce. Tech giant <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, for example, has committed to half of its employees coming from \u201cunderrepresented communities\u201d (i.e., black, Native American, and Hispanic) by 2023. Best Buy is hiring one person of color for every three new hires over the next five years. United Airlines has<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-unitedarlns-jobs-idUSKBN2BT1FX\"> promised<\/a> that at least half of the pilots they will train in the next decade will be women and \u201cpeople of color\u201d (currently, only 13 percent of pilots are people of color).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In May, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot suddenly declared she will only give interviews to \u201cjournalists of color\u201d \u2014 something that would be an impeachable offense if the situation was reversed (only giving interviews to \u201cwhite journalists\u201d).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/facebook-zuckerberg.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Mark Zuckerberg Meta\" class=\"wp-image-20742054\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/facebook-zuckerberg.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/facebook-zuckerberg.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/facebook-zuckerberg.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Tech giant Meta (formerly Facebook) has committed to half of its employees coming from \u201cunderrepresented communities\u201d by 2023. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Pavlo Gonchar\/SOPA Images\/Shutte<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The push to promote people of color has become so pervasive that the most objective scientific institutions have seemingly become captive to woke ideology. For example, the NIH and CDC use taxpayer dollars to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/grants.nih.gov\/grants\/guide\/pa-files\/PA-20-166.html\">incentivize<\/a> biomedical research labs to hire ethnic minorities because \u201cresearch shows that diverse teams working together and capitalizing on innovative ideas and distinct perspectives outperform homogenous teams\u201d \u2014 without <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/grants.nih.gov\/grants\/guide\/pa-files\/PA-20-166.html\">quoting or citing any actual research<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Minorities are now even advantaged when seeking medical treatment. Last week, the New York City and state departments of health authorized life-saving antiviral treatment for COVID-19 for everyone belonging to a \u201cnon-white race or Hispanic\/Latino ethnicity\u201d regardless of risk factors, but for whites, only those with risk factors are allowed it. In June, the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association \u2014<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/description\/APA\"> \u201cone of the world\u2019s most respected publications in psychoanalysis\u201d<\/a> \u2014 printed a peer-reviewed paper entitled \u201cOn Having Whiteness.\u201d The abstract of the paper describes \u201cwhiteness\u201d as a \u201cmalignant, parasitic-like condition\u201d requiring \u201ceffective treatment consist[ing] of a combination of psychic and social-historical interventions.\u201d It adds, \u201cthere is not yet a permanent cure.\u201d There are real, accredited university courses that instruct anti-white racism: \u201cRace Theory &amp; the Problem of Whiteness\u201d (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/morning-mix\/wp\/2015\/11\/12\/a-course-originally-called-the-problem-of-whiteness-returns-to-asu-as-racial-tensions-boil-over-on-campuses\/\">Arizona State University<\/a>) and \u201cAbolition of Whiteness\u201d (Hunter College).\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/lori-lightfoot-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has said she will only give interviews to \u201cjournalists of color.&quot;\" class=\"wp-image-20742104\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/lori-lightfoot-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/lori-lightfoot-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/lori-lightfoot-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has said she will only give interviews to \u201cjournalists of color.\u201d<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Institutionalized anti-white bigotry has escalated to genocidal rhetoric. As Bari Weiss revealed in her recent Substack piece, Yale University hosted a lecture by Dr. Aruna Khilanani this year about the \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bariweiss.substack.com\/p\/the-psychopathic-problem-of-the-white\">The Psychopathic Problem of the White Mind<\/a>,\u201d where the speaker revealed her fantasies to kill white people. Other than university administrators later saying the lecture was found to have \u201ctone and content antithetical to the values of the school,\u201d the backlash was tempered. While social media erupted and Khilanani\u2019s Manhattan-based practice is <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/meaww.com\/aruna-khilanani-fired-shoot-whites-yale-talk-internet-wants-license-revoked-put-loony-hospital\">now closed<\/a> for unknown reasons, she still has her license. Employers, professors and administrators are lauded for implementing radical diversity initiatives. As minorities are preferentially hired across the board and given a host of other benefits by way of their genetic lottery, we must fundamentally reframe our discourse surrounding race relations.<\/p>\n<p>While \u201cwhite privilege\u201d may still exist in some margins of society, it no longer reflects the progressive era we live in.<\/p>\n<p><em>Rav Arora specializes in topics of race, music, literature and culture.
