When Android 12 launched in 2021, Google announced a bevy of new features for the Pixel phone\u2019s \u201cAt a Glance\u201d widget. And one of the most highly-anticipated of these new features, the ability to see Nest Doorbell previews on your Pixel lock screen, is now available to some users with the Google app<\/a> beta (v13.0.6).<\/p>\n

As reported by Mishaal Rahman<\/a>, Google is rolling out a server-side update that adds Nest Doorbell previews to some users\u2019 At a Glance widget. If someone rings your Nest Doorbell (or it detects movement), a small preview clip will appear on your lock screen, saving you the trouble of opening an app. (If you\u2019re already on the Pixel home screen, you\u2019ll see a small doorbell notification without a preview clip.)<\/p>\n

A big feature update is coming soon for the At a Glance widget. Integrated Nest doorbell alerts started working for tipster Nick Cipriani today w\/ Google App v13.0.6.29. If you\u2019re a Pixel user running Android 12 with the Google app beta (v13.0.6), you can try to enable Nest Doorbell previews from the At a Glance settings. Just unlock your Pixel, press and hold on the At a Glance widget on your home screen, and enable \u201cDoorbell.\u201d (Bear in mind that this feature isn\u2019t available to all beta users yet.)<\/p>\n

I should note that other new At a Glance features, including the flashlight reminder, now show up in the At a Glance settings. But they don\u2019t seem to work just yet.<\/p>\n

Again, this feature isn\u2019t widely available yet. You can try to force it on your device by installing the latest Google app beta<\/a> from APK Mirror, but Google is only enabling it for a small handful of users. A wider rollout should happen in the near future.<\/p>\n
