It appears that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/etherscan.io\/tx\/0x4e476c490e5e6c0ce1de8bffeca0121b88a7bb28d272720a294fe2af124d1742\">most<\/a> of the stolen tokens were sent to a single address, swapped for Ether (ETH) on Uniswap and Sushiswap, then sent elsewhere. <\/p>\n<p>LMT price tumbled 92% to $0.0093 after hackers transferred then sold the loot from the project\u2019s hot wallets. <\/p>\n<p>A subsequent Jan. 11 tweet from the team stated that they were \u201cworking on stabilizing the situation and resuming all operations back to normal.\u201d The team also stated that it had removed liquidity LMT from liquidity pools to \u201cminimize disruption to token prices.\u201d <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Lympo?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Lympo<\/a> provides an update on the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24LMT&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$LMT<\/a> token slippage and hacking that occurred on January 10th at approximately 12:32 pm UTC. We&#8217;re working on stabilizing the situation and resuming all operations back to normal.<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/i07w5zoOwW\">https:\/\/t.co\/i07w5zoOwW<\/a><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/animocabrands?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@animocabrands<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lympo.io &#8211; Crypto Community (@Lympo_io) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Lympo_io\/status\/1480582931794083842?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 10, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nRemoving liquidity from pools that trade LMT means that traders will not be able to buy or sell any significant amount of the tokens without experiencing a dramatic loss of value on their trade. <\/p>\n<p>Early on Jan. 11, the team <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/lympo\/413849\">urged<\/a> traders to refrain from buying or selling any LMT tokens while they completed their investigation and determined the next best course of action.<\/p>\n<p>As a subsidiary property of Animoca Brands, Lympo may benefit from intervention from the Animoca team. Animoca CEO Yat Siu told Cointelegraph, \u201cWe are working with Lympo to assist them on a recovery plan, but we don\u2019t have any specific mechanisms.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_second_hot_wallet_hack_this_week\"><\/span>The second hot wallet hack this week<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Centralized crypto exchange LCX also suffered from a security breach on one of its hot wallets, leading to the loss of nearly $7 million on Jan. 8. In this case, the hacker made off with stacks of eight different crypto assets.<\/p>\n<p>LCX lost varying amounts of MKR, ENJ, LINK, QNT, SAND, ETH, LCX, and USDC. The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/etherscan.io\/address\/0xe5e8229C057DCfA804195929293C88C708BD2bB4\">majority<\/a> of the funds were converted to ETH then sent to Tornado Cash, a privacy tool designed to hide the source and destination of ETH.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>ImmuneFi report $10B in DeFi hacks and losses across 2021<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The LCX team released an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lcx.com\/hot-wallet-incident-report\/\">update<\/a> on Jan. 10 assuring users that they would be compensated for the losses incurred and that no personal data was compromised during the attack. The team wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLCX will use our own funds to cover the incident and compensate affected users.
