“#The Beatles: Get Back – The Rooftop Concert to Be One Night IMAX Event<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\nThe Beatles are still considered one of the greatest musical groups of all time. Their music has influenced generations of musicians. Their last album, \u201cLet It Be,\u201d was said to be fraught with problems behind the scenes.

\nIn a recent documentary for Disney+ called The Beatles: Get Back<\/em>, Peter Jackson explored the making of that album using archival footage from a documentary that was made at the time the Beatles made \u201cLet It Be\u201d and was designed to help debunk the belief that the Fab Four did not get along during its recording. And now, a part of that documentary is getting a one-night-only IMAX release.<\/p>\n

As a part of the documentary, Jackson included the entirety of the iconic 1969 concert from the rooftop of the App<\/a>le Corps\u2019 Savile Row headquarters. That concert will air in a special IMAX presentation at select IMAX theaters on January 30th, the 53rd anniversary of the rooftop concert. The presentation will also feature a Q&A with Peter Jackson.

In a statement to Deadline,<\/a> Jackson said, \u201cI\u2019m thrilled that the rooftop concert from The Beatles: Get Back<\/em> is going to be experienced in IMAX, on that huge screen. It\u2019s The Beatles\u2019 last concert, and it\u2019s the absolute perfect way to see and hear it.\u201d

\nSelect IMAX theaters will host the screenings with the filmmaker Q&A broadcast via satellite simultaneously to all connected IMAX locations.<\/p>\n

\u201cEver since Peter Jackson\u2019s beautiful and illuminating docuseries<\/a> debuted, we\u2019ve heard non-stop from fans who want to experience its unforgettable rooftop performance in IMAX,\u201d says Megan Colligan, president of IMAX Entertainment. \u201cWe are so excited to partner with Disney to bring Get Back<\/em> to an entirely new stage and give Beatles fans everywhere a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch and hear their heroes in the unrivalled sight and sound of IMAX.\u201d

\nThe concert, which is included in its entirety in The Beatles: Get Back<\/em>, will be optimized for IMAX screens, digitally remastered with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Remastering) technology<\/a>.

No one realized it at the time, but the 42-minute concert given off the rooftop of the Apple Corps\u2019 building was the final concert the Fab Four would have together as a group.<\/p>\n

It had been planned that the group would have a special concert when they completed \u201cLet It Be,\u201d but George Harrison was against a big production. Three of the songs from the performance, the first take of \u201cI\u2019ve Got a Feeling\u201d and the single takes of \u201cDig a Pony\u201d and \u201cOne After 909,\u201d were added to the \u201cLet It Be\u201d album.

\nThe concert happened over lunchtime, and the crowds were confused, with the police even going so far as to go up and stop the Beatles from performing. The set ended with John Lennon\u2019s famous quip, \u201cI\u2019d like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we\u2019ve passed the audition.\u201d

\nThe concert happened on January 30th, 1969. By September of that year, Lennon would leave the group. The Beatles would never perform another live show after the rooftop concert.<\/p>\n

The Beatles: Get Back<\/em> is currently streaming in its entirety on Disney+.<\/p>\n
