Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roval rating in drops again &#8212; to 33 percent: poll<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>President Biden\u2019s job approval rating has tumbled to 33 percent in the latest <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/images\/polling\/us\/us01122022_ubjw88.pdf\">Quinnipiac University poll<\/a>, a whopping 17 percentage-point drop\u200b from February and an indication of American voters\u2019 deep dissatisfaction over his administration\u2019s response to rising inflation and a resurgence\u00a0of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>More than half of American adults (53 percent) disapprove of the job the president is doing, while 13 percent told the pollster they couldn\u2019t offer an opinion.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>While Biden hit his high approval rating of 50 percent in the Feb. 17 edition of the poll, that number hasn\u2019t cracked 40 percent since mid-September. <\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the president\u2019s disapproval rating in the survey has risen 17 percentage points from its low of 36 percent on Feb. 3.<\/p>\n<p>Three-quarters of Democrats said they approve of Biden, while just 25 percent of independents and 2 percent of Republicans said the same. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/biden-2-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"President Joe Biden talks to reporters before boarding Marine One on the South Lawn of the White House.\" class=\"wp-image-20814143\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/biden-2-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/biden-2-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/biden-2-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>The survey found that 49 percent of Americans believe the president is doing more to divide the country, while only 42 percent said he\u2019s working to unite it.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Biden also received failing marks for his handling of the economy (34 percent approve, 57 percent disapprove), the pandemic (39 percent approve, 55 percent approve) and foreign policy (35 percent approve, 54 percent disapprove).<\/p>\n<p>As the first anniversary of Biden\u2019s inauguration nears, 50 percent of Americans say the president is doing about as well as they expected, 39 percent say he\u2019s doing worse than expected, and only 7 percent say he\u2019s exceeding expectations.<\/p>\n<p>A plurality (49 percent) say the president is doing more to divide the country, while only 42 percent said he\u2019s working to unite it \u2014 undercutting a key theme of Biden\u2019s successful 2020 presidential campaign. <\/p>\n<p>Most Americans also don\u2019t care for how Democrats and Republicans are handling their jobs on Capitol Hill, with 62 percent disapproving of congressional Republicans and 59 percent disapproving of congressional Democrats.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"scribd_iframe_embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/552479902\/content?start_page=1&amp;view_mode&amp;access_key=key-sjaFgu5l0ykftQVbN6nD\" data-auto-height=\"true\" scrolling=\"no\" id=\"scribd_552479902\" width=\"100%\" height=\"500\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But when asked which party they would want to control the House of Representatives if the midterm elections were held today, Republicans edged out Democrats 43 percent to 42 percent.<\/p>\n<p>When asked which party they\u2019d want to be a majority in the Senate, 45 percent chose Republicans, while 41 percent said Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 6 out of 10 respondents (59 percent) said they would not want to see former President Donald Trump run for the White House again in 2024, while just 33 percent said they would.<\/p>\n<p>More than two-thirds of Republicans (69 percent) say they want Trump to run again, down from the 78 percent who expressed support for another presidential bid in October.<\/p>\n<p>The poll surveyed 1,313 adults between Jan. 7-10 and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 2.7 percentage points.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
