{"id":393277,"date":"2022-01-13T04:25:57","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T01:25:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/joe-harris-ankle-recovery-trickier-than-nets-thought\/"},"modified":"2022-01-13T04:25:57","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T01:25:57","slug":"joe-harris-ankle-recovery-trickier-than-nets-thought","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/joe-harris-ankle-recovery-trickier-than-nets-thought\/","title":{"rendered":"#Joe Harris&#8217; ankle recovery &#8216;trickier&#8217; than Nets thought"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Joe Harris&#8217; ankle recovery &#8216;trickier&#8217; than Nets thought<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>CHICAGO \u2014 Joe Harris still isn\u2019t practicing, and his recovery from ankle surgery has taken longer and been more complex than the Nets anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah I think it\u2019s been trickier than we thought,\u201d coach Steve Nash admitted Wednesday before the Nets faced the Bulls. \u201cBut if we know one thing about Joe, he\u2019s going to do everything possible and be back as soon as he possibly can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>James Harden (left knee hyperextension), Kyrie Irving (left ankle sprain) and Nic Claxton (left hamstring tightness) also were all questionable for the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> Wednesday. But those are short-term issues, while Harris\u2019 long-term absence is getting more concerning by the week.<\/p>\n<p>Harris hasn\u2019t played since a Nov. 14 win at Oklahoma City in which he hurt his ankle. He eventually had surgery on Nov. 29. The initial time frame for his return was four to eight weeks, but right now he\u2019s not even cleared to practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah so I think he\u2019s \u2026 he\u2019s not full [ramp-up mode],\u201d Nash said. \u201cHe\u2019s not fully cleared to do everything yet. He\u2019s got to get back to that, and he\u2019s got to get his high-intensity stuff in. I\u2019ve been learning a lot. I\u2019ve been developing in areas that I wouldn\u2019t normally get if I was sitting out,\u201d he said. \u201cThe coaching staff has believed in me.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Patty Mills has shot just 9-for-40 overall in his last five games.<\/p>\n<p>Fatigue has played a factor. He came into Wednesday averaging 31.0 minutes, 6.2 more per game than last season and 5.3 over his career-high from 2017-18.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think so,\u201d Nash said when asked if the workload has hurt Mills\u2019 shooting. \u201cThe guy plays so hard, he flies around out there, both ends of the floor. He\u2019s played more minutes he\u2019s ever played. \u2026 So his workload has probably been too high. But man, he\u2019s so important to us, regardless of whether he\u2019s making shots or not.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>When the Nets host Oklahoma City on Thursday, it will mark Mills\u2019 first home game against Thunder rookie Josh Giddey, his Australian national team teammate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very proud of Giddey\u2019s development over the over the years,\u201d Mills told The Post. \u201cSo I\u2019m just really pleased with the opportunity that he\u2019s had and he\u2019s making the most of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both trained at the Australian Institute of Sport when they were in high school, and were coached by Marty Clarke (Mills at St. Mary\u2019s, Giddey at NBA Global Academy).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s more than h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y to help the next guy, whether it\u2019s Giddey or whether it\u2019s any other players here. We often ask him to talk to a young guy, give him some information over the phone or whatever, and he\u2019ll always say yes,\u201d Clarke told The Post via phone. \u201cWhen he comes back to practice, he\u2019ll bring a young guy into practice and help him out.
