center_align\">\n<p>            Attorneys for Chris Brown and Drake have filed a motion to dismiss a copyright infringement lawsuit brought against them by Brandon Cooper (Mr. Cooper) and Timothy Valentine, who claim the two pop stars&#8217; 2019 hit &#8220;No Guidance&#8221; stole elements of their 2016 song, &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LldZBzkDgk4\">I Love Your Dress<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            The new motion refers to Cooper and Valentine&#8217;s case as &#8220;baseless,&#8221; rejecting the idea that Chris Brown and Drake \u2014 &#8220;two of the biggest musical artists in the world&#8221; \u2014 would have &#8220;accessed Plaintiffs\u2019 obscure song,&#8221; which wasn&#8217;t added to streaming services until January 2019, &#8220;copied certain aspects of the song&#8230;and then promptly released a &#8216;forged&#8217; song.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>            Defense attorney James G. Sammataro argues that the plaintiffs&#8217; case rests on the &#8220;alleged similarity between the wholly generic lyrical phrase &#8216;you got it,&#8217;\u201d the central lyric to both songs&#8217; hooks, &#8220;and the alleged similar (and unoriginal) <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a> of a hard-working, attractive woman.&#8221; He points out that &#8220;you got it&#8221; is not a copyrightable phrase, nor are lyrical themes copyrightable in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            Sammataro goes on to lay out the fundamental differences between &#8220;I Love Your Dress&#8221; and &#8220;No Guidance&#8221;: &#8220;Plaintiffs\u2019 song is a slow, R&amp;B love ballad about the writer\u2019s wife featuring one vocalist and relatively few lyrics.
