Do you use Dropbox to keep your stuff in the cloud? If you use an M1 Mac, you\u2019ve probably noticed that Dropbox isn\u2019t working on it. However, that\u2019s changing, as Dropbox is rolling out support for App<\/a>le\u2019s new chips in beta.<\/p>\n

A user on the Dropbox forum<\/a> first noticed the change. When you get the newest beta version of Dropbox, there\u2019s an \u201carm64\u201d indicator, which means it has full support for\u00a0M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max chips.<\/p>\n

It certainly took Dropbox long enough to bring its popular cloud storage service to Apple\u2019s Silicon, but it\u2019s better late than never. For M1 Mac users, this is a welcomed update.<\/p>\n

Having a native app means Dropbox\u00a0will run faster and consumes less power than a non-native app, so this is a significant update that\u2019s more than welcomed.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to note that the M1 support is in the beta version of Dropbox, so you\u2019ll need to download and install that version<\/a> to get full ARM support. If you go to Dropbox\u2019s website and download the main version of the app, it won\u2019t have support yet.<\/p>\n

However, since M1 support has made its way to the beta, it\u2019s only a matter of time until it comes to the final app.<\/p>\n
