Sinead O\u2019Connor has been hospitalized after tweeting harrowing messages suggesting she planned to \u201cfollow\u201d son Shane just days after he was found dead.<\/p>\n

The distraught 55-year-old singer told fans Thursday afternoon that she was \u201cwith cops now on way to hospital\u201d <\/a>just an hour after her distressing thread about also dying.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve decided to follow my son. There is no point living without him,\u201d she said of Shane, 17, whose body was found Jan. 7, a day after he went missing from suicide watch at an Irish hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cI only stayed for him. And now he\u2019s gone,\u201d the \u201cNothing Compares 2 U\u201d star wrote.<\/p>\n

In her despondent state, the star blamed herself for her son\u2019s death, saying she was a \u201cmonster\u201d who had alienated her family and didn\u2019t \u201cdeserve to live.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGod made me wrong. So I\u2019m sending myself back and I\u2019m finding the only person on this earth who ever truly loved me,\u201d she wrote of her son.<\/p>\n

She followed the thread an hour later by reassuring alarmed followers that she was heading to the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry. I shouldn\u2019t have said that<\/a> \u2026 I\u2019m sorry I upset everyone,\u201d she said of her earlier tweets.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am lost without my kid and I hate myself. Hospital will help a while,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Connor shared custody of Shane with Irish folk singer Donal Lunny. The singer has been married four times and has three other children, Jake Reynolds, Roisin Waters and Yeshua Francis Neil Bonadio, according to reports.<\/p>\n
