He said the two fought over his boozing because she did not drink alcohol, saying his drinking became \u201ca point of contention between the two of them,\u201d according to the court docs.<\/p>\n<p>He allegedly devised a plan to kill her, first by putting eye drops into a cup she regularly drank soda from. However, \u201cThomas noted that the eye drops were not causing severe enough illness. After returning home, he said he began putting more and more of the poison into her soda in an attempt to kill her, the court docs say.<\/p>\n<p>After learning Keltz was poisoned, doctors changed her treatment, but were ultimately unable to save her. She was declared brain-dead and removed from life support on June 1, documents show.<\/p>\n<p>A search warrant executed on Holifield\u2019s home revealed a funnel and a nearly empty gallon size bottle of Champion washer fluid, which Holifield allegedly told police was nearly full when he first began poisoning Keltz, The Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>Holifield has pleaded not guilty to the murder.
