South Park<\/i> is returning for its 25th anniversary season next month and Comedy Central has released a short teaser. The animated series<\/a> has already been renewed through season 30. Two hour-long specials, which aired in September 2020 and March 2021, are counted as season 24.<\/p>\n

Comedy Central\u2019s \u201cSouth Park\u201d returns for historic 25th Season Wednesday, February 2nd<\/strong><\/p>\n

January 14, 2022 \u2013 New York, NY \u2013 Comedy Central today announced that the 25th Season of the renowned franchise, South Park, returns on Wednesday, February 2<\/strong>. The celebration of 25 seasons kicks off with six brand new episodes.<\/p>\n

Named \u201cOne of the All-Time Greatest TV Shows\u201d by Entertainment Weekly, the Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning, animated series returns to Comedy Central where it has aired on Wednesday nights for the past 25 years. Since the August 1997 launch there have been more than 523 billion minutes of South Park consumed on Comedy Central alone.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be halfway done with South Park is a great accomplishment-we can\u2019t lie,\u201d said co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the past 25 years, multiple generations of fans have grown up enchanted by the outlandishly funny and subversive world that Matt and Trey have created with South Park,\u201d said Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of ViacomCBS Media<\/a> Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios. \u201cAs part of our expansive new deal, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with them for many more seasons of South Park on Comedy Central and many more made-for-streaming South Park exclusive events on Paramount+.\u201d<\/p>\n

All-new episodes will be available to stream in HD on SouthPark.cc.com, CC.com and the Comedy Central App<\/a> post-premiere.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Park\u201d the series launched 25 years ago on August 13, 1997 and Comedy Central is ready to toast the show that put them on the map in a year filled with surprises and events that will thrill the show\u2019s millions of fans.<\/p>\n

Based on the animated short entitled \u201cThe Spirit of Christmas.\u201d Co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are executive producers, along with Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II. Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell and Vernon Chatman are producers. Christopher Brion is the creative director of South Park Digital Studios. \u201cSouth Park\u2019s\u201d website is SouthPark.cc.com.<\/p>\n

MTV Entertainment Studios\u2019 expansive deal with Parker and Stone includes extending \u201cSouth Park\u201d on Comedy Central through 2027 and taking cable\u2019s longest-running scripted series \u2013 August 13, 2022, marks the franchise\u2019s 25th anniversary \u2013 through an unprecedented 30th season. In addition to the series extension, the new deal includes 14 \u201cSouth Park\u201d original made-for-streaming events exclusively for Paramount+, including this year\u2019s SOUTH PARK: POST COVID and SOUTH PARK: POST COVID: THE RETURN OF COVID. The series has earned five Emmy Awards, to date, and a George Foster Peabody Award.<\/p>\n
