Terry McAuliffe in November.<\/p>\n<p>Youngkin, nattily dressed in a morning coat and gray gloves, promised to \u201crestore trust in government and to restore power to the people\u201d in an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pilotonline.com\/government\/virginia\/vp-nw-youngkin-inauguration-weekend-20220115-vxhf3sjsq5exhnsowztlerjukm-story.html\">optimistic inaugural speech<\/a> that strove for bipartisanship after a bruising election battle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo matter who you voted for, I pledge to be your advocate, your voice, your governor,\u201d he said outside the state capitol in Richmond.<\/p>\n<p>Two hours later, he <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsls.com\/news\/virginia\/2022\/01\/15\/here-are-the-11-executive-actions-gov-youngkin-has-signed-on-day-one\/\">began signing off<\/a> on nine executive orders and two executive directives that banned the use of critical race theory and other \u201cdivisive concepts\u201d in public schools, rescinded his predecessor\u2019s vaccine mandate for all state employees, and proclaimed that parents must decide whether their kids mask up in school.<\/p>\n<p>In another order, Youngkin launched an investigation into \u201cwrongdoing in Loudoun County\u201d \u2014 where a skirt-wearing schoolboy\u2019s sexual assaults on female classmates sparked the parental revolt that gave him the governorship.<\/p>\n<p>Youngkin\u2019s history-making GOP running mates were also sworn in during Saturday\u2019s outdoor ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Marine vet Winsome Earle-Sears, whose rifle-toting campaign photos made her a conservative heroine, became the commonwealth\u2019s first black female lieutenant governor, and new Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a> Jason Miyares is the first Latino to serve in that role.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
