\n President Trump mocked GOP Sen. Mitt Romney for marching in Washington, DC, in protest over George Floyd\u2019s killing in Minneapolis, saying \u201cwhat a guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTremendous sincerity, what a guy. Hard to believe, with this kind of political talent, his numbers would \u2018tank\u2019 so badly in Utah!,\u201d the president wrote on Twitter<\/a> Monday.<\/p>\n

Romney, according to the New York Times, is among a group of Republicans like former President George W. Bush not expected to support Trump\u2019s reelection this November.<\/p>\n

Romney, who walked with a group of Christians, told the Washington Post that he joined the protest because \u201cwe need a voice against racism.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need many voices against racism and against brutality. And we need to stand up and say \u2018black lives matter,’\u201d said Romney, who has a 52 percent app<\/a>roval rating in Utah.<\/p>\n

Floyd was killed on May 25 when a Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee into Floyd\u2019s neck for more than eight minutes.<\/p>\n

The officer, Derek Chauvin, has been charged with second-degree murder and the US Department of Justice said it has made its civil rights investigation into the death of George Floyd a \u201ctop priority.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
