\nNorfolk, VA \u2013 <\/span> As everyone celebrates Martin Luther King Day and the impact of Martin Luther King Jr.\u2019s work, Pharrell Williams is asking corporations to do better at honoring Black lives.<\/p>\n

As reported by The Virginian-Pilot,<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>the legendary musician spoke at the Urban League of Hampton Roads\u2019 annual Martin Luther King Jr. awards program on Monday (January 17) and demanded big businesses to invest more in people of color.<\/p>\n

Pharrell said big businesses should \u201cdo more and channel their energy in the right direction,\u201d and noted \u201cthe smart [companies] \u2013 the ones that will be here in 50 years\u201d were already doing just that. He highlighted the Japanese venture capital firm Softbank, app<\/a>lauding them for their commitment to diversity in the workplace.<\/p>\n
