\nThe official world premiere of the all-new Disney+ original series<\/a>, Moon Knight<\/em>, was revealed during the NFL Super Wild Card matchup. The new trailer for the highly-anticipated Marvel series reveals tons of new footage of what’s to come in the near future. Moon Knight<\/em> is an upcoming American television miniseries based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. It is the nineteenth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and an installment of Phase Four. You can check the official trailer for the upcoming series below.

As shown in the brand-new trailer above, the highly-anticipated Marvel series will finally arrive soon. The brand-new trailer reveals tons of new footage, as well as a much better look at Moon Knight’s costume. We also got to see another look at Ethan Hawke’s Arthur Harrow, and hopefully, soon-to-be Shadow Knight. With no exact release date revealed just yet, the upcoming MCU series will be available for streaming on Disney+ sometime during March 2022.

Created by Jeremy Slater, the official synopsis for Moon Knight<\/em> is as follows: “A new globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and Ancient Egypt.” It has also been confirmed that the upcoming series will consist of six episodes, with roughly 40-50 minute runtimes. Moon Knight<\/em> is produced by Marvel Studios and will be released on Disney+.

All episodes for the upcoming Marvel series are directed by Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab, and Synchronic<\/em> <\/strong>duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Moon Knight<\/em> stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, Gaspard Ulliel, and May Calamawy. In addition to leading the Disney+ series, Oscar Isaac will also serve as an executive producer. During his appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers<\/em><\/a>, Ethan Hawke based his villainous character on former cult leader David Koresh. “I’ve based my character on David Koresh,” Hawke laughed with the host. “Yeah, so I mean, I guess it’s working. I totally wanted a Camaro, you know? I want to ride in on a Camaro. I can’t believe you, I mean, you’re good Seth. Or maybe I’m not out of character yet\u2026 I don’t know if we want to be on record saying that. But, I will say, he is the basis of great character inspiration, however.”

Originally created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin back in 1975 for Werewolf by Night #32<\/em>, Moon Knight is the alter ego of Marc Spector, a Jewish-American rabbi’s son who grew up to become a heavyweight boxer, and then a U.S. Marine. Marc Spector is a mercenary with numerous alter egos such as cabbie Jake Lockley, and millionaire playboy Steven Grant in order to better fight the criminal underworld. Left for dead in the desert, Marc Spector was revived by the Moon god Khonshu. App<\/a>ointed as Khonshu’s fist and high priest, Moon Knight enacts justice to protect those who travel<\/a> at night. His current abilities consist of proficiency in martial arts and armed combat, high-tech equipment, detective expertise, as well as increased strength, speed, and endurance depending on the lunar cycle.

\nSo far, this year is expected to be equally packed as last year, with the upcoming releases of She-Hulk<\/em>, Secret Invasion<\/em>, Ms. Marvel<\/em>, and <\/em>The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special<\/em> <\/em>currently lined up for Disney+. Additionally, feature films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/em>, <\/em>Thor: Love and Thunder<\/em>,<\/em> and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever<\/em> are slated for release in theaters.
