“#’Still Unable to Be Accountable’<\/strong>”

Following New York Magazine<\/em>\u2019s recent cover story<\/a> on writer and director Joss Whedon, Charisma Carpenter is speaking out against her former Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em> and Angel<\/em> boss, once again demanding an apology<\/a> for his \u201ctoxic and \u201chostile\u201d behavior.<\/p>\n

Carpenter is one of many former colleagues of Whedon\u2019s who have spoken out since allegations of his on-set misconduct came to light<\/a>, particularly from Justice League<\/em> star Ray Fisher, who called out Whedon<\/a> in a June 2020 tweet. Fisher stated that Whedon\u2019s treatment of him and others on set was \u201cgross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.\u201d His statement also called out DC president Geoff Johns for enabling Whedon\u2019s inapp<\/a>ropriate behavior on set.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, January 18, one day after the <\/em>cover story dropped, Carpenter tweeted once again in support of Fisher\u2019s claims, writing, \u201c#IStandWithRayFisher, the \u2018malevolent force\u2019 and \u2018bad actor in both senses\u2019 who poisoned my feeble mind with trendy buzzwords and corrupt ideas about my experiences with a former tyrannical narcissistic boss who is still unable to be accountable and just apologize.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carpenter released her initial statement<\/a> regarding Whedon\u2019s allegations in early 2021, accusing him of abusing his power on the Buffy<\/em> and Angel<\/em> sets and maintaining that he called her \u201cfat\u201d during her pregnancy on Angel<\/em> Season 4, among many other claims.<\/p>\n

In the New York<\/em> interview, Whedon denied the allegations against him, asserting that Carpenter and others\u2019 stories were not factual and that his actions never had any malicious intent. \u201cIf I am upsetting somebody, it will be a problem for me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
