The publication <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guinnessworldrecords.com\/news\/2022\/1\/worlds-oldest-man-saturnino-de-la-fuente-garcia-dies-aged-112-689403\">announced his passing<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>De la Fuente Garc\u00eda once told Guinness World Records his secret to a long life: \u201cDo not hurt anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Guinness, he was born in Puente Castro, Leon, on Feb. 11, 1909,<\/p>\n<p>He was affectionately also known as \u201cEl pepino\u201d during his lifetime. He opened up a growing shoemaking business during the war instead.<\/p>\n<p>De la Fuente Garc\u00eda\u2019s craft skills allowed him to fashion boots for the army, earning him a reputation as an artisan in his hometown. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Another passion of Garcia\u2019s was playing soccer. He was a supporter of Leon\u2019s team <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/soccer\/team\/_\/id\/10629\/cultural-leonesa\">Cultural Leonesa<\/a> and even co-founded Puente Castro\u2019s local soccer team.\u00a0For his 110th birthday, the latter paid homage to him.<\/p>\n<p>The Guinness Book of World Records posted a TikTok celebrating Garcia last year.
