So can a product that combines both overcome this? Canadian company, Daymak, believes it can.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c-mrkdwn__br\" data-stringify-type=\"paragraph-break\"\/><span>Since 2002, Daymak has been the biggest distributor and developer of electric light vehicles in Canada. It has over 150 dealers, has sold more than 100,000 vehicles, and exports to 25 countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c-mrkdwn__br\" data-stringify-type=\"paragraph-break\"\/><span>For reference, light electric vehicles refer to electric-powered transport like escooters, autocycles, and ebikes. But what we\u2019re most interested in today is one of the company\u2019s latest EVs: <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/daymakavvenire.com\/campaign\/\">the Spiritus<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c-mrkdwn__br\" data-stringify-type=\"paragraph-break\"\/><span>This promises\u00a0<\/span>crypto mining<span>\u00a0capabilities while it charges, as well as solar EV chargers that do the same thing.. It looks like a car at the front and an emotorbike from the back. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Cryptocurrency infrastructure called\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/daymakavvenire.com\/nebula\/\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Daymak Nebula<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0includes an onboard GPU embedded into the Spiritus dashboard. From here the owner can harvest crypto. There\u2019s no information about whether the hardware includes an ASIC (<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lication-specific integrated circuit.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A wallet called Nebula Wallet is accessible via an app where the car owner can collect mining profits, and pay\/receive\/stake cryptocurrencies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I asked Baiocchi why you\u2019d want a crypto mining car. He shared:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Most people drive a car one hour a day, and the car is depreciating in front of you. And in our case, we want to use that spare time to mine crypto such as Ethereum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Spiritus comes with a load of features including <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Wi-Fi connectivity, wireless charging, and <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">solar panels for additional charging<\/span>. <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The vehicle comes in Deluxe ($22,995USD) and Ultimate ($149,000 USD) varieties. It offers a range of up to 480km \u2014 or 300 miles \u2014 and takes 2 to 4 hours to charge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" srcdoc=\"&lt;style&gt;*{padding:0;margin:0;overflow:hidden}html,body{background:#000;height:100%}img{position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;object-fit:cover;transition:opacity .1s cubic-bezier(0.4,0,1,1)}a:hover img+img{opacity:1!important}&lt;\/style&gt;&lt;a href=\" https:=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/La35N3UB0k0\/hqdefault.jpg\" style=\"top: 50%;left:50%;width:68px;height:48px;transform:translate3d(-50%,-50%,0)\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"So_how_much_money_can_you_make\"><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So how much money can you make?<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Erm, not as much as you might think. According to Baiocchi:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We ran a test, and we got about $7USD and change per day. So that\u2019s over $300 a month (\u20ac246), which is pretty good to put towards your lease payments of the car.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This idea extends to using crypto as a payment with service platforms inside and outside the car. Baiocchi asserts:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We envision a future where your highway tolls, your parking, and your drive-thru order will be paid directly on the fly with crypto. The software platform can also handle your online bills and your banking in crypto.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">And if you think it sounds crazy, well, Daymak is also developing crypto mining capabilities for the roof of the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/daymakavvenire.com\/products\/foras\/\">Forus<\/a> ebike.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_the_integrity_of_a_crypto_mining_car\"><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What\u2019s the integrity of a crypto mining car?\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I had a lot of questions and to be honest, I didn\u2019t get a lot of answers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ok, a prototype Spritus is live in the wild. But there\u2019s no proof of concept as to the veracity of the crypto miner, as the patent is still pending. Yet the vehicle is expected to roll out commercially in 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Further, while dual-purpose charging sounds like a valid way to get the maximum juice out of your charging time, mining crypto seems somewhat antagonistic to the environmental aims of electric vehicles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Baiocchi was unable to \u00a0tell me the carbon footprint of the car, the crypto mining, or the cost in terms of energy expenditure, saying \u201cit doesn\u2019t cost much.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__gutter\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__gutter__right\" role=\"presentation\" data-qa=\"message_content\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__blocks c-message_kit__blocks--rich_text\">\n<div class=\"c-message__message_blocks c-message__message_blocks--rich_text\">\n<div class=\"p-block_kit_renderer\" data-qa=\"block-kit-renderer\">\n<div class=\"p-block_kit_renderer__block_wrapper p-block_kit_renderer__block_wrapper--first\">\nI assume the car would need to be continuously connected to the internet for the mining, which suggests a lot of energy expenditure. Solar panels would help, but not solve this problem.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I also wonder about the impact of crypto mining on battery degradation?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Further, the volatility of the coins you\u2019re mining may mean you have no profit for your efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">And of course, I can\u2019t help wondering about the vulnerability of the car to cyberattacks.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">But plenty of people are convinced. <\/span><span class=\"c-mrkdwn__br\" data-stringify-type=\"paragraph-break\"\/><span>Daymak\u2019s launching <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/daymakavvenire.com\/\">6 light electric vehicles simultaneously.<\/a> <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The company <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/daymakavvenire.com\/\">launched six products<\/a> simultaneously in 2022, securing over $1 billion in pre-order commitments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This includes over 26,000 Spritus pre-orders.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The company is also working on a solution in response to the environmental impact of crypto mining.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Daymak_also_has_a_solution_to_the_pain_point_of_energy-draining_crypto_mining\"><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Daymak also has a solution to the pain point of energy-draining crypto mining<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It\u2019s called\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/Tracker?data=1SUL5ZY6luMyJL2m_Q9QRG0jNQ0rdyOeI9IXmOVTkpav6s1v6ESKSsGIlMr2sreEvHlPRbqs8UqhP5cUYbKWLOlUXWBC05j7Nutv9XO0Ns0=\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">CryptoSolarTree<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">; the world\u2019s first commercial, emission-free cryptocurrency mining solution. And like Spritus\u2019 crypto mining, it\u2019s patent-pending. It also serves alternative uses as an EV charging station, or backup electricity source for two days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As well as running as an energy source, the company claims that the charge will also offer a water collection and purification system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Crypto-savvy consumers will also have the option of installing their own pre-existing mining rig, GPU or ASIC.
