{"id":396394,"date":"2022-01-20T00:49:34","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T21:49:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/activision-blizzard-ceo-to-get-390-million-payout\/"},"modified":"2022-01-20T00:49:34","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T21:49:34","slug":"activision-blizzard-ceo-to-get-390-million-payout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/activision-blizzard-ceo-to-get-390-million-payout\/","title":{"rendered":"#Activision-Blizzard CEO to get $390 million payout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Activision-Blizzard CEO to get $390 million payout<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Activision-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick will walk away with a $390 million check as a result of Microsoft\u2019s acquisition of his gaming company \u2014 just two months after employees demanded his firing over the firm\u2019s alleged culture of sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>Kotick, 58, who is expected to leave Activision-Blizzard after the deal is completed sometime next year, agreed on Tuesday to sell his company to Microsoft in an all-cash deal valued at $75 billion. <\/p>\n<p>The vast majority of his $390 million payout will come from the 3.95 million shares that he owns, according to securities filings.<\/p>\n<p>Since Kotick doesn\u2019t own any unvested equities, he will not be entitled to a change of control payment.<\/p>\n<p>Kotick is said to be worth an estimated $870 million, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/annakaplan\/2022\/01\/18\/activision-blizzard-ceo-kotick-reportedly-leaving-company-after-microsoft-deal-closes\/?sh=37f5ad177000\">according to Forbes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The software giant\u2019s acquisition of the Santa Monica-based gaming studio that has produced hits like Candy Crush, Call of Duty, and Guitar Hero will make it the third-largest company in the online gaming space behind Tencent and Sony. <\/p>\n<p>Microsoft\u2019s official announcement of the acquisition, the largest in the history of the tech giant, did not mention Kotick. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/bobby-kotick-payout-05.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"SUN VALLEY, IDAHO - JULY 06: CEO of Activision Blizzard Bobby Kotick arrives for the Allen &amp; Company Sun Valley Conference on July 06, 2021 in Sun Valley, Idaho. In recent months, the company has been scrutinized for its alleged mishandling of complaints related to reported instances of sexual harassment and discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>In July of last year, the company was sued by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing after a two-year investigation found alleged cases of harassment, discrimination, and a toxic workplace culture.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation accused the firm of tolerating a \u201cfrat bro\u201d culture that included rape jokes, crude comments, and groping.
