Former Bitcoin bull Raoul Pal only owns one Bitcoin? <\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.cointelegraph.com\/images\/840_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS91cGxvYWRzLzIwMjItMDEvZjVlZGY0MmItMzdkNy00OWRjLTg2NTMtZGFlNjc4MjA5ODUyLmpwZw==.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-128018ef>Former Goldman Sachs hedge fund manager and cryptocurrency bull Raoul Pal claimed in a tweet that he now only owns a single Bitcoin. <\/p>\n<p>As the claim was made in the heat of a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> fight with self-proclaimed \u201cBitcoin Strategist\u201d Greg Foss it\u2019s not entirely clear whether it\u2019s an exaggeration or an accurate statement about his holdings. Pal is the founder and CEO of Real Vision and Global Macro while Foss is an executive director at Validus Power Corp. <\/p>\n<p>The revelation of his <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arently small holding certainly caused uproar and angst among Bitcoin true believers, who\u2019ve looked at Pal askance ever since he started calling Ethereum \u201cthe <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/shows.banklesshq.com\/p\/80-ethereum-is-the-greatest-trade\">greatest <\/a>trade\u201d and predicted that ETH and altcoins will eventually outperform BTC. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Fascinating to see that since inception ETH has outperformed BTC by 250%. It only fell below its initial price in BTC for the first 5 months of its existence in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Let that put rest to the idea that all other tokens trend towards zero in BTC terms. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ulCpsjG8up\">pic.twitter.com\/ulCpsjG8up<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Raoul Pal (@RaoulGMI) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RaoulGMI\/status\/1379757010439266304?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nPal first purchased BTC in Nov 2013. He sold for a 10X profit in the so-called \u201cfork-wars\u201d of 2017 (missing out on an even bigger gain later that year) before adding to his collection in 2019 through 2020. In May 2021, he <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RaoulGMI\/status\/1388652913409642501?s=20\">confirmed<\/a> that he owned more ETH than BTC. At time of writing, Bitcoin (BTC) is worth $40,925.<\/p>\n<p>The barney was instigated by Foss, who <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FossGregfoss\/status\/1483981163274416135?s=20\">tweeted<\/a> \u201cRaoul is soft\u201d followed by another intellectual <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FossGregfoss\/status\/1483987070758658049?s=20\">tweet<\/a>, \u201cRaoul sucks and blows\u201d shortly after. After some back and forth between Pal and the Bitcoin maxi, Pal posted that people like Foss and the Bitcoin community\u2019s exclusionary ideology are why he only holds one Bitcoin. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">And that is your issue. I don&#8217;t share your philosophy, so you attack me? Really? This is why I hold only one bitcoin, the community has lost sight of inclusion and you sir, are helping reduce the network effects by excluding people who dont share your view from the network.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Raoul Pal (@RaoulGMI) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RaoulGMI\/status\/1483998335954571271?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 20, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This upset the Bitcoiner community, many who claimed he had let emotion cloud logic. \u201cHis feelings are hurting his future,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/emanuel_moinhos\/status\/1484109956009893891?s=20\">commented<\/a> one user Emanuel in a reply to Bitcoin Meme Hub tweet. \u201cI knew when he started to sip Vitalik&#8217;s coolaid he was a goner,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jalanfoster\/status\/1484133631325052932?s=20\">added<\/a> another user, Jalan Foster.<\/p>\n<p>The founder of Synaptic Ventures Marc van der Chijs <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marcvanderchijs\/status\/1484112087588691973?s=20\">complained<\/a> that the fact Pal only owns one BTC based on the makeup of the community and not on the potential return \u201cgoes totally against the gospel he preaches on RealVision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, some defended Pal, pointing to his impressive track record and reminding followers that he is in fact a trader, not a holder. Crypto analyst and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/CryptoMyWay\">founder<\/a> of Crypto My Way \u201cCoach T\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SirThomas11_11\/status\/1483996645352169472?s=20\">wrote<\/a> that he appreciates Pal\u2019s \u201cdiverse views and intelligent thinking.\u201d <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Foss_vs_Pal_a_Twitter_feud\"><\/span>Foss vs. Pal: a Twitter feud<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It appears that the argument was in response to a disagreement on Pal\u2019s stance on inflation and bonds as a trading vehicle. Foss <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FossGregfoss\/status\/1483994304632823810?s=20\">explained<\/a> that he didn\u2019t support Pal promoting his trading strategy to others who don\u2019t entirely understand how it works. <\/p>\n<p>Pal disagreed, explaining that his views on bonds are \u201ca trade, not a philosophy.\u201d Despite this, in a following comment on the thread, Pal <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RaoulGMI\/status\/1484004651636862978?s=20\">claimed<\/a> that he doesn\u2019t own any bonds. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ok, lets do math. If Im right and bonds can rally 20% in 12 months (just use TLT) that is faster than the balance sheet expansion, thus its a net win to your purchasing power. If you hold bonds to maturity you lose.
