{"id":397646,"date":"2022-01-21T23:55:25","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T20:55:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/google-amazon-meta-up-lobbying-as-big-tech-scrutiny-rises\/"},"modified":"2022-01-21T23:55:25","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T20:55:25","slug":"google-amazon-meta-up-lobbying-as-big-tech-scrutiny-rises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/google-amazon-meta-up-lobbying-as-big-tech-scrutiny-rises\/","title":{"rendered":"#Google, Amazon, Meta up lobbying as Big Tech scrutiny rises"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Google, Amazon, Meta up lobbying as Big Tech scrutiny rises<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Google, Amazon, and Meta spent tens of millions of dollars lobbying Congress last year as the tech behemoths came under increasing scrutiny from antitrust regulators and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.<\/p>\n<p>Google\u2019s parent company Alphabet Inc. boosted spending on lobbyists by 27.5% last year to $9.6 million, according to filings.<\/p>\n<p>Meta Platforms Inc., which operates <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> and Instagram, spent an all-time record of $20.1 million on lobbyists while e-commerce retailer Amazon spent around $20.3 million.<\/p>\n<p>Both Meta and Amazon increased their lobbying expenditures by 7% compared to 2020.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le, on the other hand, spent less money to lobby Washington last year.
