One feature that sets it apart from Google Chrome is \u201cSuper Duper Secure Mode.\u201d We\u2019ll explain what this is and how you can use it.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_Super_Duper_Secure_Mode\"><\/span>What Is Super Duper Secure Mode?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>First and foremost, \u201cSuper Duper Secure Mode\u201d is not the official name of this feature. It\u2019s still in testing and will be renamed eventually. However, that was the name of the feature flag and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be an internal codename that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/microsoftedge.github.io\/edgevr\/posts\/Super-Duper-Secure-Mode\/\">Microsoft engineers still use<\/a>, so that\u2019s what we\u2019ll be calling it, too.<\/p>\n<p>What does it actually do, though? Microsoft\u2019s security team discovered that the V8 JavaScript engine is the culprit for many security vulnerabilities. The JavaScript engine uses \u201cJust-In-Time Compilation\u201d (JIT) to help speed up JavaScript code on web pages, but it opens up a few vulnerabilities in the browser.<\/p>\n<p>JIT exists to speed up your browsing, but Microsoft says that disabling it doesn\u2019t always have negative effects on performance. Super Duper Secure Mode also enables\u00a0Control-flow Enforcement <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Technology<\/a> (CET), an Intel hardware-based exploit prevention tool that further locks down the browser.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <strong><em>Microsoft, You&#8217;re Making It Hard to Recommend Edge<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Enable_Super_Duper_Secure_Mode\"><\/span>How to Enable Super Duper Secure Mode<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Turning on Super Super Secure Mode is very simple. Balanced mode will only affect websites you don\u2019t visit often. So if there\u2019s any performance hit, it won\u2019t be on your frequently used websites.
