\nOof. This Las Vegas residency drama continues to be such a bummer.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s pretty obvious that Adele<\/strong> was emotional about rescheduling her Weekends With Adele<\/em> concert series<\/a>, which was supposed to begin last week. When she told fans the event would be postponed because the \u201cshow ain\u2019t ready\u201d on Thursday, she was clearly on the brink of an emotional breakdown. Sadly, it now sounds like that might have been her state of mind for the last several weeks.<\/p>\n

Hey, it\u2019s a pandemic! Haven\u2019t we all been that way LOL?<\/p>\n

A new source is opening up about the behind-the-scenes scandal to Page Six<\/em>, claiming that the English songwriter was \u201cshouting and sobbing\u201d on the phone to her boyfriend Rich Paul<\/strong> during rehearsals. Oh, and we don\u2019t mean just in the last week when she realized her production wasn\u2019t up to par. No, she\u2019s app<\/a>arently been sobbing for an entire month!<\/p>\n

A source close to the management team at Caesars Palace<\/strong> noted:<\/p>\n

\u201cAdele\u2019s been crying and couldn\u2019t get through a single full rehearsal for the past month.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

They continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cJust constantly on the phone with Rich \u2026 loudly shouting and sobbing. She has barely rehearsed because she is constantly in the middle of an emotional shootout.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Whoa! Honestly, that\u2019s pretty sad to hear!! Unfortunately, this isn\u2019t the only source opening up about how bad things were supposedly getting between the couple. Scott Roeben<\/strong>, the Las Vegas-based journalist for Casino.org<\/em> who broke the news<\/a> of the star\u2019s cancelation, also claimed that Adele\u2019s stress \u2014 stemming from her \u201crelationship\u201d \u2014 has been so problematic, insiders don\u2019t think she\u2019ll ever reschedule her concert dates. He dished:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are rumblings that there are stresses related to Adele\u2019s relationship. I\u2019m told that these stresses caused her to be in a place where she was just not confident moving forward. You can\u2019t focus if you\u2019re not where you need to be in your head.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well, that\u2019s certainly a plot twist! Paul is the first serious relationship Adele has been in since divorcing Simon Konecki<\/strong>, with whom she shares son Angelo<\/strong>, 9. She was spotted flying right home to be with the sports agent\u00a0after posting her emotional Instagram<\/strong> video. We assumed it was just to get out of the public eye and process the delay around someone she loves\u2026 but could she be trying to put out a fire at home? Hmm.<\/p>\n

Scott also provided more insight into some of the other arguments that surely took up a lot of Adele\u2019s thoughts and energy during rehearsals. As we reported, the Hello<\/em> vocalist and her team asked The Colosseum<\/strong> to upgrade its already state-of-the-art sound and video equipment to meet her high standards. While Caesars was willing to make those changes, they had some demands of their own.<\/p>\n

Roeben claims the venue\u2019s management team was pushing for Adele to include a 60-person choir to accompany her on Skyfall<\/em>. These are probably the non-union musicians hired given the amount. It\u2019s unclear why Adele\u2019s team was fighting against the choir, but it was supposedly a point of contention. Now, the postponement is causing consequences for everyone involved, the journalist added:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a major implosion for [Caesars] financially, and the PR is terrible. They hired more staff at their restaurants, put more dealers on their casino tables. You\u2019ve got people with disposable income coming to Vegas, and this huge machine is reliant on you showing up.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

All that said, Scott does think the last-minute cancelation couldn\u2019t have been avoided, noting:<\/p>\n

\u201cBut when you say you\u2019re not going to use the existing audio system, you just throw things into turmoil. When you want to replace a video screen, you\u2019re waiting for a supply chain, and that\u2019s disruptive \u2014 you can\u2019t get a certain video board from China and no magical thing is going to make it happen. I think it\u2019s true that it came down to the wire.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Though he doesn\u2019t think the Grammy<\/strong> winner should be totally off the hook. The very fact that she ditched all dates of the three-month-long residency is a \u201chuge red flag\u201d that there were too many problems to solve in a timely fashion.<\/p>\n

Scott continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t need to cancel the residency. It seems to imply a lot more going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As for why Adele would have been considering using a swimming pool to lift her off the ground and create an illusion that she was floating on water, the confidant believes the mom was feeling the pressure of following in the footsteps of Celine Dion<\/strong>, who just had one of the most successful residency in the city\u2019s history. In the same venue, no less.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the house that C\u00e9line built.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Another insider thinks \u201cthe scale and the lunacy\u201d of Katy Perry<\/strong>\u2019s popular show in Vegas, which is currently running until March, didn\u2019t help absolve the pressure to put on a spectacle. They told the outlet:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives you some idea of what people have in their mind for a Vegas residency \u2014 there\u2019s dancing and pyrotechnics. This town is built on over-the-top extravagance and sheer \u2018wow\u2019 factor. Adele would have been scrutinized and judged on a different scale.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
