“#Percy Jackson TV Series<\/a> Ordered at Disney+<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is becoming a TV series.<\/p>\n

Disney+ has officially ordered the project to series.<\/p>\n

Author Rick Riordan shared the news<\/a> in a video shared by the streaming service.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe wait is over, demigods. I am thrilled to be the first to tell you that Percy Jackson and the Olympians is really, truly, and for sure coming to your screens,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe smart folks at Disney+ have given us the green light, and the best part is, James Bobin is on board as our pilot director.”<\/p>\n

“James is a terrific person and also an incredibly talented director who recently directed the pilot for Disney+\u2019s The Mysterious Benedict Society, which I loved. James knows Percy Jackson well \u2014 his kids are fans \u2014 so we\u2019re in great hands.”<\/p>\n

News of a TV series in development broke in May 2020.<\/p>\n

The novels had previously been adapted into two movies that were not well-received.<\/p>\n

The latest adaptation \u201ctells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who\u2019s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt,\u201d according to the official descript<\/a>ion.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.\u201d<\/p>\n

The series is set to be a more faithful adaptation than the movies.<\/p>\n
