{"id":399521,"date":"2022-01-26T19:51:15","date_gmt":"2022-01-26T16:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/biden-admin-looking-to-fast-track-afghan-refugee-resettlement\/"},"modified":"2022-01-26T19:51:15","modified_gmt":"2022-01-26T16:51:15","slug":"biden-admin-looking-to-fast-track-afghan-refugee-resettlement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/biden-admin-looking-to-fast-track-afghan-refugee-resettlement\/","title":{"rendered":"#Biden admin looking to fast-track Afghan refugee resettlement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Biden admin looking to fast-track Afghan refugee resettlement<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The White House is exploring ways to speed up the resettlement process for Afghan refugees, shortening the timeframe to as little as one month, according to new reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The proposed changes would allow Afghan refugees to be screened, vetted and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roved to be sent to the US within 30 days of their arrival at a resettlement facility in Qatar, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/biden-afghan-refugee-fast-track-qatar-afghanistan-57d744d0-7bf9-4ab1-a947-6be7a23a1102.html\">Axios reported<\/a> late Tuesday. Typically, it takes anywhere from two to five years for refugees to be resettled in America. <\/p>\n<p>The changes are being weighed by the White House, the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security as the administration approaches a February deadline to move thousands of refugees off American military bases where they have been temporarily housed since leaving Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover in August.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the US mainly <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/humanitarian\/humanitarian-or-significant-public-benefit-parole-for-individuals-outside-the-united-states\">uses humanitarian parole<\/a> to push rapid resettlement. Former President Donald Trump lowered the cap for refugee administration each year he was in office.
