<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       Tesla Inc. shares on Thursday traded at their lowest since October, as investors looked past solid quarterly results to worry anew about  the electric-vehicle maker\u2019s timelines, promises, and constraints on production.<\/p>\n<p> Tesla stock<br \/>\n        TSLA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203558040\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-11.55%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       closed down 11.6%, at $829.10, for its lowest close since Oct. 14, when it closed at $818.32, and largest one-day percentage decline since a 21% plunge on Sept. 8, 2020. Share losses dragged the company\u2019s market capitalization to about $832 billion. <\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Tesla late Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings well above Wall Street consensus, and shares traded down im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely after the release as the company revealed that its factories have run below capacity for months due to supply-chain problems.  <\/p>\n<p>The stock reversed course, however, as Chief Executive Elon Musk sought to assuage those production concerns, saying that he sees production growth \u201ccomfortably\u201d above 50% in 2022. <\/p>\n<p>He kept light on near-term issues, however, and spent a good portion of the hour-plus conference call speaking about driverless Teslas, which he promised by the end of this year, a potential fleet of robotaxis, and the Tesla humanoid robot unveiled in August. <\/p>\n<p>Some 12 hours after the results, some analysts were boring down on that lack of specifics. <\/p>\n<p>The results threw a few \u201ccurveballs\u201d at Tesla bulls, Jeffrey Osborne at Cowen said in a note Thursday. Musk\u2019s \u201c\u2018rant\u2019 on (Full Self Driving) brings back flashbacks to \u201919 when 1mn robotaxis were promised by YE20,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Tesla shares \u201ctend to work the best when something new is coming,\u201d Osborne said. Meaningful production of its new vehicles, such as the Cybertruck and the commercial electric truck, are pushed to 2023 and there\u2019s no \u201cModel 2,\u201d a cheaper EV around $25,000, in development, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Investors had high expectations that Tesla would discuss its product roadmap over the next year plus, analyst John Murphy with B. of A. Securities said in his note. Instead, the outlook for 2022 and beyond \u201cwas relatively vague.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Tesla\u2019s production growth guidance was \u201cencouraging,\u201d but somewhat puzzling as Tesla continued to emphasize that supply-chain challenges remained a constraint, Murphy said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAdditionally, we anticipated that, within its 2022 outlook, (Tesla) might provide more detail around the start of production and expected ramp timeline in its Austin and Berlin facilities, but little definitive guidance was provided other than the current status in both plants, which was dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Others took a more optimistic view. Tesla\u2019s \u201clong-term story is intact,\u201d said Adam Jonas with Morgan Stanley. Tesla is on a path to be a 10-factory company producing as many as 1 million vehicles per factory by 2030, he said. <\/p>\n<p>The call reinforced Tesla\u2019s focus on scale as it ramps capacity at its five factories, Ben Kallo at Baird said. <\/p>\n<p>Musk highlighted \u201cseveral <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> advancements,\u201d he said. \u201cAlthough these have previously been discussed, the commentary seemed to indicate some were closer to commercialization than before. We remain buyers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While tesla reiterated \u201coptimism\u201d on its Full Self Driving driverless system, analyst Mark Delaney at Goldman Sachs said he and colleagues remain \u201cguarded on<br \/>how quickly the company can achieve full autonomy given the delays the industry<br \/>broadly (including Tesla) has encountered historically on (autonomous vehicles).\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The lack of progress on a $25,000 EV could raise questions about Tesla\u2019s growth past the next year, as other EVs around that price come to market, Delaney said.
