Google is testing a new Chrome Web Store<\/a> feature that lets you remotely install desktop browser extensions from your phone. The feature is functional on Windows computers, though Google hasn\u2019t fully implemented the mobile version of its Chrome Web Store.<\/p>\n

While most people won\u2019t benefit from this feature, it\u2019s certainly neat. It could help you quickly set up tools like 1Password or Evernote on all your devices without leaving your phone. And if you own a Chromebook, you could use this feature to remotely add dedicated web app<\/a>s to your desktop.<\/p>\n

Review Geek<\/span><\/p>\n

To test this feature, simply open your Chrome mobile app<\/a> on Android and activate \u201cDesktop\u201d view from the menu (the three dots up top). Then, navigate to the Chrome Web Store and select an extension. Turn off \u201cDesktop\u201d view, and viola, you can now tap the \u201cAdd to Desktop\u201d button to beam an extension to your PC\u2019s Chrome browser.<\/p>\n

Without activating \u201cDesktop\u201d view, the Chrome Web Store will refuse to work on your phone. That said, some Reddit<\/a> users\u00a0report seeing\u00a0a mobile version<\/a> of the Chrome Web Store homepage. (We weren\u2019t able to trigger the mobile Chrome Web Store, unfortunately.)<\/p>\n
