{"id":402326,"date":"2022-02-01T21:22:15","date_gmt":"2022-02-01T18:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/solar-storm-ejection-is-headed-for-earth-tomorrow-how-to-spot-its-effects\/"},"modified":"2022-02-01T21:22:15","modified_gmt":"2022-02-01T18:22:15","slug":"solar-storm-ejection-is-headed-for-earth-tomorrow-how-to-spot-its-effects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/solar-storm-ejection-is-headed-for-earth-tomorrow-how-to-spot-its-effects\/","title":{"rendered":"#Solar storm \u2018ejection\u2019 is headed for Earth tomorrow \u2013 how to spot its effects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Solar storm \u2018ejection\u2019 is headed for Earth tomorrow \u2013 how to spot its effects<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>An intense burst of radiation fired from the Sun is expected to batter Earth\u2019s atmosphere tomorrow, according to space weather trackers.<\/p>\n<p>The hot material, known as a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) erupted from our closest star on Jan. 30 following an enormous solar flare.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s now on a collision course with our planet and it is predicted to arrive in the early hours of Wednesday, according to data from NASA\u2019s Solar and Heliospheric Observatory.<\/p>\n<p>The highly charged cloud of particles could trigger showings of the northern lights at higher latitudes, says astronomer Dr. Tony Phillips.<\/p>\n<p>Writing on his website\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/spaceweather.com\/\">spaceweather.com<\/a>, which tracks the sun\u2019s activity, he explained that the CME could cause a G2-rated solar storm on Earth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cModerately-strong G2-class geomagnetic storms are possible after the CME arrives,\u201d Dr Phillps said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring such storms, auroras can spill out of the Arctic Circle into northern-tier US states from New York to Minnesota to Washington.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPower grids and satellites are in no danger, however. Heliospheric Observatory, a major solar eruption is shown in progress Oct. 29, 2003. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As well as causing issues for our tech, they can cause harm to astronauts working on the International Space Station, either through radiation exposure or by interfering with mission control communications.<\/p>\n<p>The Earth\u2019s magnetic field helps to protect us from the more extreme consequences of solar flares.<\/p>\n<p>Weaker solar flares are responsible for auroras like the Northern Lights.<\/p>\n<p>Those natural light displays are examples of the Earth\u2019s magnetosphere getting bombarded by solar wind, which creates the bright green and blue displays.<\/p>\n<p>The sun is currently at the start of a new 11-year solar cycle, which usually sees eruptions and flares grow more intense and extreme.<\/p>\n<p>These events are expected to peak around 2025 and it\u2019s hoped the Solar Orbiter will observe them all as it aims to fly within 26 million miles of the sun.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
