\nLast year, after Nick Cannon<\/strong> welcomed four kiddos in just 12 months, he proclaimed that he was going celibate at least until 2022\u2026 and, yet, on Monday, he confirmed that he is welcoming a baby boy with Bre Tiesi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So\u2026 what the f**k happ<\/a>ened then?<\/p>\n

Well, The Masked Singer<\/em> host opened up about his celibacy journey after confirming the upcoming arrival of his eighth child during an interview on his talk show with\u00a0Angela Yee<\/strong>. Speaking to the Breakfast Club<\/em> co-host \u2014 who hosts her own sex and dating podcast called Lip Service<\/em> \u2014 he explained that the very reason he decided to abstain from sex was BECAUSE of this latest bundle of joy!<\/p>\n

Referencing his therapist, whom he credited with the idea last September, he clarified:<\/p>\n

\u201cMy therapist was one of the [people] who said that I should probably be celibate and the reason why is because I had shared that news, about Bre being pregnant.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The pregnancy news shook him to his core, so he knew something needed to change in his life, even if just for a moment. Cannon mused:<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it was like, \u2018Yo, I don\u2019t know what to do?\u2019 I felt like I was trying to get a grasp, like I have a new show coming out, and then that was the reason why I started my celibacy journey back then.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Just to make matters 100% clear, the actor insisted:<\/p>\n

\u201cFor anyone who was thinking, \u2018Oh, he wasn\u2019t celibate.\u2019 I was [celibate] because I was dealing with [this].\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Yee was totally on board with that explanation considering that Nick first started the \u201cchallenge\u201d in October and Bre is currently \u201cclose to 20 weeks\u201d pregnant, according to the All That<\/em> alum. Proud that he didn\u2019t break his promise, Cannon went on to share why he felt compelled to listen to his therapist\u2019s advice in the first place, adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like my life was out of control. And honestly, the celibacy did help me through the journey of getting one with myself and dealing with this.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

That said, he\u2019s \u201cnot celibate no more!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI made it to almost the New Year. So no.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

LOLz! But just because he almost<\/em> completed his celibacy challenge successfully, it doesn\u2019t mean that having so many children with multiple women hasn\u2019t taken a toll on him. The 41-year-old called his family situation \u201ca challenge\u201d \u2014 but noted that he\u2019s not necessarily done adding little ones to his family tree.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to have as many children as I can have and healthily provide for and be a good father too.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The comedia<\/a>n continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be the best father that I could possibly be, but I\u2019m not counting out ever having more children.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Wild \u2018N Out<\/em> host first welcomed twins Monroe<\/strong> and Moroccan<\/strong>, 10, with then-wife Mariah Carey<\/strong>. In 2017 and 2020, respectively, he added son Golden<\/strong>, 4, and daughter Powerful<\/strong>, 1, with Brittany<\/strong> Bell<\/strong>. In June, Abby De La Rosa<\/strong> gave birth to twins Zion<\/strong> and Zillion<\/strong>, 7 months. Later that month, Alyssa<\/strong> Scott <\/strong>had Zen<\/strong>, but the infant sadly died from a brain tumor in December. He is now expecting another boy with Bre.<\/p>\n

When asked if the mothers get along, Nick answered coyly:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey all get along with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The performer got a little more candid about their relationships, sharing:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re all amazing women and they all have their own journeys and I don\u2019t think that [just] because they all have children with me they should be forced to get along. My children all get along and they have all allowed my children to know and grow and see each other, and that\u2019s all I ask.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
