But the supposed dream man, who called himself Simon Leviev, turned out to be a nightmare, an international con man that duped her out of $250,000 and landed her in the psych ward.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/browse\">Netflix\u2019s<\/a> jaw-dropping new documentary \u201cThe Tinder Swindler\u201d (out Feb. 2) tells Fjellhoy\u2019s story and those of two other Leviev victims: Swedish marketing exec Pernilla Sjoholm and Dutch fashionista Ayleen Charlotte.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I saw Simon\u2019s pictures, he had the kind of look that I like,\u201d Fjellhoy says in the film. <\/p>\n<p>Leviev\u2019s profile showed a man who <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared to live a jet-setting life full of stylish suits and designer clothes, sipping cocktails on exotic beaches and attending high-powered business meetings. Fjellhoy had no reason to doubt that he was the \u201cPrince of Diamonds\u201d that he portrayed himself to be. She even Googled him, and found that there was indeed a billionaire Russian-Israeli diamond mogul, Lev Leviev a k a \u201cThe King of Diamonds,\u201d who she took to be her suitor\u2019s father. Leviev told Fjellhoy that the diamond industry was \u201cdangerous\u201d and he had unspecified \u201cenemies.\u201d To back up his claims, he showed her photos of bullets that he\u2019d been sent in the mail and an image of his bodyguard, Peter, looking bloody and beat up after an \u201cattack.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said, \u2018They\u2019re going after me, thank God for Peter \u2013 if not, I would have been dead,\u2019\u201d Fjellhoy says in the film. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Leviev then claimed he was unable to use his credit cards because his enemies could trace him that way. Of course we\u2019re going to help each other, it wasn\u2019t even a question,\u201d she says. She also had no reason to doubt that he could pay her back, since he foot the bill on all their dates and she believed that he was a billionaire. In the space of a month, she lent him nearly $100,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery second or third day is a new request,\u201d she says in the documentary. \u201cEach time he maxes out the card, I have to take out a new loan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Fjellhoy believed that she was paying to support Leviev and his team and fund expensive business lunches in Stockholm, where her love had fled for supposed safety reasons. In reality, he was using Fjellhoy\u2019s money to take a new Tinder target \u2014 Sjoholm \u2014 out on the town. <\/p>\n<p>Before long, Fjellhoy had lent him $250,000. He sent her a check to reimburse her for $500,000 \u2014 appearing generous, since that was for more than she had lent him \u2014\u00a0but it didn\u2019t go through. Everything is a lie. He\u2019s not a prince of diamonds, son of a billionaire.\u2019 The man I love was never real, he faked everything. It was horrible, because in a sense, I still loved him \u2014 or the person I thought he was \u2026 I don\u2019t understand how someone can be so f \u2013 \u2013 king evil. I felt that he knew me.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"In_debt_and_suicidal\"><\/span>In debt and suicidal<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>She returned home to Oslo to stay with her mother, becoming so despondent about her debt, she considered suicide and checked herself into a psych ward. The Israeli police, meanwhile, confirmed that Hayut\u00a0is an Israel-born fraudster who fled in 2011 to skip out on sentencing for fraud, theft and forgery. He served two years in a Finnish prison from 2015 to 2017 for defrauding several women, before he was sent back to Israel in 2017. <\/p>\n<p>Using a fake passport, he fled again, and continued to prey upon women such as Fjellhoy, Sjoholm and Charlotte, using their money to fund his lavish lifestyle and continue his con. The documentary estimates that he\u2019s swindled $10 million, and the journalists in the film say he had at least a dozen victims \u2014 and likely many more. (The filmmakers reached out to Hayut for comment on the allegations in the doc, and he responded by calling it \u201cdefamation\u00a0and lies.\u201d)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Victims_all_over_the_world\"><\/span>Victims all over the world <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cWe mapped out at least 13 cases, with some of them containing more than one person, families and couples,\u201d Arntsen told The Post. \u201cBut this is only what we were able to verify. In our research we came across huge amounts of photos and material that showed different women we not always managed to identify, meaning there could be victims we don\u2019t know about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe response [to initial reporting of Fjellhoy\u2019s story] was overwhelming,\u201d journalist Hansen says in the film. \u201cWe were contacted by victims all over the world\u2026he was reported to the police in at least 7 different countries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since he was using other people\u2019s credit cards to travel, he was difficult to trace. He was sentenced to 15 months for the fraud he committed in Israel. <\/p>\n<p>But, it\u2019s not quite a happily-ever-after ending. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/tinder-swindler-released-from-prison-early-infuriating-fraud-victims\/\">Hayut was released early,<\/a> in May 2020 after just five months and amid COVID-19 prison concerns. He is living as a free man in Israel. Fjellhoy and his other victims are still imprisoned by debt, slowly digging themselves out of the deep financial holes he pushed them into. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only thing we can do is get his face out there,\u201d Sjoholm says in \u201cThe Tinder Swindler.\u201d \u201cIf people know who he is and recognize his face, he can\u2019t do this anymore.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
