“#What Made Botched Star Dr. Terry Dubrow Break Down Crying For First Time In Show’s History

\nTuesday night\u2019s\u00a0Botched<\/em> was a big first for the show. Even casual fans of the show know all people bring in is horror stories of their mistreatments and maimings. It\u2019s all shocking stuff.<\/p>\n

However, in seven seasons, this was the first time a patient\u2019s story brought Dr. Terry Dubrow<\/strong> to tears. In fact, the poor doc broke down and had to walk away from the consultation office for a moment to collect himself!<\/p>\n

So what happ<\/a>ened??<\/p>\n

The potential patient was a 22-year-old trans singer from Canada named\u00a0Serena<\/strong>. After hormone therapy she turned to cosmetic surgery to go for her ideal look \u2014 like so many others, she idolized Britney Spears<\/strong>. She explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cAt 16 years old, I decided to transition to a woman by taking hormone replacement therapy. Hormones can make you look more feminine but they can\u2019t do everything that plastic surgery can do for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Poor Serena, like so many women who visit the docs, had a poorly done breast augmentation and was hoping Dr. Dubrow and\u00a0Dr. Paul Nassif<\/strong> could help \u2014 and increase the size while they were at it.<\/p>\n

But it wasn\u2019t the botched breast implants that sent Dr. Dubrow over the edge. It was the love and support of Serena\u2019s parents. See, he was surprised to hear her parents were \u201ccompletely cool with\u201d her transitioning \u2014 something he hasn\u2019t heard nearly enough of. But Serena gushed:<\/p>\n

\u201cI loved my parents. I always had a really great relationship with them\u2026 Anything I wanted to do, very accepting. I\u2019m so thankful I had that because I have friends who had different situations, like being kicked out or told not to do what they\u2019re doing. And it sucked. I was always supported. Just positive encouragement. Sometimes that\u2019s all somebody needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And that\u2019s what it took. That was the key that caused Dr. Dubrow to lose it. He fought back the tears for a moment but had to walk right out.<\/p>\n

Dr. Nassif told Serena:<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t seen that before, ever. I\u2019ve never seen him get up and walk out of a room and fall apart like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In a confessional moment, the accomplished doc explained it was thinking about what he\u2019d do for his own children \u2014 and the reminder that many parents don\u2019t feel that way \u2014 that broke his heart:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m the father of three girls and a boy, and this story just really got to me because I\u2019m so concerned about every little thing with my kids. And it just reminds me how important it is to be a supportive parent, and when you\u2019re not, how devastating it can be on your children.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Awww! What a moving realty TV moment!<\/p>\n

Sadly, the docs weren\u2019t able to help Serena as they deemed it too dangerous to increase her implant size. So she decided not to go through with surgery after all.<\/p>\n

But we\u2019re sure glad she stopped by \u2014 otherwise we wouldn\u2019t have this amazing moment (below)!<\/p>\n
