\nJennifer Lopez<\/strong> can give as good as she gets!<\/p>\n

J.Lo is currently promoting her new rom-com Marry Me<\/em>, which is about a super famous pop star looking for love after being spurned by her cheating fianc\u00e9. Sounds pretty close to real life (*cough*Alex Rodriguez<\/strong>*cough*), except for the part IRL where she reunites with her movie star former fianc\u00e9 (AKA Ben Affleck<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Interviewed on the Today<\/em> show by Savannah Guthrie<\/strong> and the newly-single Hoda Kotb<\/strong> (who recently broke up with her own fianc\u00e9 and partner of eight years, Joel Schiffman<\/strong>), the singer admitted her film \u201cwas very meta.\u201d She reflected:<\/p>\n

\u201cI know what it feels like to go home and have them like making jokes about you on TV\u2026 It\u2019s hard. You go home sometimes and you cry when it was a big heartbreak or something happ<\/a>ened and it was bad, and it\u2019s hard to deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The actress kept her musings general<\/a> about the job of a celeb. But Savannah wanted to get more specific. She remarked:<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like we\u2019re talking around it\u2026 Obviously there are a lot of parallels and you\u2019re back together with Ben Affleck. A lot of people were rooting for that relationship back then.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The hosts referenced their interview with Matt Damon<\/strong>, who had expressed his support for Bennifer back in May 2021. Jenny from the Block<\/em> replied:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys really, really gave him a hard time. \u2026 I felt so bad for him. I was like, \u2018Oh my God.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Still, Savannah pressed on, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cI know you don\u2019t necessarily want to spill your guts about something that\u2019s personal and belongs to you. But\u2026 I think so many people can relate to the one who got away or the one you always wondered about. Like, how did you find each other again?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The momma of two responded:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think, you know, we can talk about that backstage if you really want to know. But, you know, I think what we learned from the last time is that love, when you are lucky enough to find it, is so sacred and special and you have to hold a little bit of that privately. And that\u2019s what we\u2019ve learned. But we\u2019re very happy, if that\u2019s what you\u2019re wondering about.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well that\u2019s a very gracious answer from someone who seemed not altogether comfortable with the question!<\/p>\n

The Let\u2019s Get Loud<\/em> artist had her chance to dish back some of the discomfort later in the conversation, when Hoda held up a People<\/em> mag cover featuring J.Lo. Noticing a blurb about her own split from Schiffman, the TV personality quipped:<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me just block out this corner.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Grabbing the mag, Jennifer shot back:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are you trying to block out the corner? You don\u2019t want to talk about your personal stuff? Is that what it is, Hoda?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

LOLz!!!<\/p>\n

Luckily, Hoda had a sense of humor about it, laughing and giving the 52-year-old a high five as she said:<\/p>\n

\u201cTouch\u00e9.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
