Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens once or twice.<\/p>\n<p>But one man has revealed he has tested positive for the virus 78 days in a row \u2014 and hasn\u2019t left his home for 14 months.<\/p>\n<p>Muzaffer Kayasan first tested positive for coronavirus in November 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Despite having leukaemia, the 56-year-old said he didn\u2019t have severe symptoms with the virus and was discharged from hospital soon after infection.<\/p>\n<p>In the UK, rules state that you currently have to isolate for five days after testing positive for coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>The rule had first been 14 days, before being reduced to seven days, if you had a negative test on day six and seven, and then five.<\/p>\n<p>In Turkey, where Muzaffer is, the rules on isolation mean that you have to isolate for seven days after becoming infected.<\/p>\n<p>Since first catching the bug, he has spent nine months in hospital and another five months at his home in Istanbul.<\/p>\n<p>Muzaffer has been unable to have physical contact with his wife and son during this time, but they have been able to visit.<\/p>\n<p>He said that at first he thought he was just a carrier of the illness, but he has now learned that that is \u201cnot the case\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/covid-quarantine-14-months-07.jpeg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Muzaffer first tested positive in November 2020.\" class=\"wp-image-21211059\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/covid-quarantine-14-months-07.jpeg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/covid-quarantine-14-months-07.jpeg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/covid-quarantine-14-months-07.jpeg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Muzaffer first tested positive in November 2020.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>flash<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI think I am more exposed to the virus\u201d, he said. \u201cEven a cat passing by the window can infect me,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was recovered, but I still have the remnants of COVID-19 in my body. This is the only explanation I was given for the positive tests,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no problem here other than being unable to touch my loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very hard.
