{"id":405803,"date":"2022-02-15T11:12:05","date_gmt":"2022-02-15T08:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/unvaccinated-novak-djokovic-could-skip-french-open-wimbledon\/"},"modified":"2022-02-15T11:12:05","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T08:12:05","slug":"unvaccinated-novak-djokovic-could-skip-french-open-wimbledon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/unvaccinated-novak-djokovic-could-skip-french-open-wimbledon\/","title":{"rendered":"#Unvaccinated Novak Djokovic could skip French Open, Wimbledon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Unvaccinated Novak Djokovic could skip French Open, Wimbledon<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/AP22038184574519.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>LONDON \u2014 Novak Djokovic said in an interview broadcast Tuesday that he is prepared to skip the French Open and Wimbledon if vaccination against the coronavirus is required for him to play.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the BBC, the 20-time Grand Slam champion said he is not vaccinated and added that missing the next two majors, where he is the defending champion, and other tournaments is \u201cthe price that I am willing to pay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand the consequences of my decision,\u201d Djokovic said. \u201cI understand that not being vaccinated today, you know, I am unable to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> to most of the tournaments at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 34-year-old Serb said he is not opposed to vaccinations but believes in \u201cthe freedom to choose what you put into your body. And, for me, that is essential.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am trying to be in tune with my body as much as I possibly can,\u201d he said, adding that he has always been careful about everything he ingests. \u201cBased on all the information that I got, I decided not to take the vaccine, as of today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he would be prepared to miss the French Open in May, he said: \u201cThat is the price that I am willing to pay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also asked if would be ready to skip Wimbledon, he added: \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause the principles of decision-making on my body are more important than any title or anything else,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic has won the French Open twice, including in 2021, and has six Wimbledon titles, including the last three.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic, however, distanced himself from anti-vaccination campaigners. Some claimed him as their hero when he was deported from Australia in January. That followed his losing bid to stay in the country to defend his Australian Open title despite not being vaccinated against COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have never said that I am part of that movement,\u201d Djokovic said, adding \u201ceveryone has the right to choose, to act, or say what ever they feel is <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriate for them.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
