Vile is a creature of habit. Since leaving The War On Drugs nearly 15 years ago, he&#8217;s stuck to his guns, releasing album after album of long, rambling songs that manage \u2014 against all logic \u2014 to stay interesting throughout. Today, he&#8217;s dropped another such track, the seven-and-a-half minute &#8220;Like Exploding Stones,&#8221; along with a cinematic video. It&#8217;s the lead single of his newly announced ninth solo LP, <i>(watch my moves)<\/i>, out April 15 on Verve Records.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            The record will be 15 tracks of what Vile has dubbed &#8220;fried&#8221; pop \u2014 combining his rock background with folk-country fundamentals. \u201cIt\u2019s about songwriting. It\u2019s about lyrics. It\u2019s about being the master of all domains in the music,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019m always thinking about catchy music, even though it\u2019s fried, or sizzled, out. It\u2019s my own version of a classic thing\u2014it\u2019s moving forward and backward at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>            To celebrate the forthcoming album, he&#8217;ll embark on a massive spring-summer international tour with his band, The Violators.
